Pajo
I'm regretfully getting out of pinball and just sold my only two pins - (both fully restored by me) TZ and MM. I still have the original pf from the MM that has been hanging in the shed for the last 6 years filthy dirty and untouched from when it came out of the pin. I'm after a bit of advice on how to deal with it. I'm considering cleaning it up and putting it in the house or otherwise selling it. I have no idea of what it is worth nor whether it would be a candidate for restoration or just wall art. It has a nice colour to it, more of a blue than purple background on the lower part of the pf. If it was restored I think most inserts would need replacing as they are very cloudy and many of them have wear around them. If I was to clean it up for the wall, any suggestions on process ie should I keep water off it due to the bare wood wear spots and use something like isopropyl alcohol? This will make you laugh, the description of the pin when I bought the pin 10 years ago was "Game is clean..... the playfield has a few inserts with typical wear like the shield". The price however was right and I would have bought it if the description had been accurate so I'm not complaining. Any advice on what a fair price would be if I sold it or how to clean it appreciated.
Boof Head
It’s a wall hanger mate. Not sure how it would clean up. Try some metho on a paper towel or rag. See how it cleans up. Looks to be burned around the GI. Might get a couple of hundred for it as art.
ajfclark
I'd use Naphtha (Shellite) but same as above. See how much crap lifts easily.
Gemini2544
In the good old days at Golden West we used Prepsol & Nifti.
