Control panel vinyl help

I've made my control panel with pine wood and I'm starting to notice how easy it is to bump it and make a deep mark so I would like to fix this using a vinyl wrap with custom graphics and have it no more than 1mm thick, can vinyl on its own be sturdy enough to stop marks

 I would say no, if you're denting your panel during normal use, vinyl will not stop dents. It will however, hide those dents.
