Need help with C+ programming code issue for Scrolling Display on Battle Pinny

Hi All

For 2022, I'm trying to fix an issue with my Battle Pinny. It has scrolling displays that show the modes the pin is in during game play.

The 8x8 Matrix modules I use have a issue where they can lock up or loose a section due to data corruption actually in the modules.

These are 8 single modules, daisy chained together. The interwebs says this is a common issue with these displays.

So I want to change them to new modules that should be more reliable. 

Problem is, I cant get my program to communicate with the new modules....

Unfortunately, my knowledge of C+ is very limited, so require some assistance with the code to try and make this work.

So if anyone is willing to cast an eye over my code and let me know what they think I have stuffed up, please let me know.

I can send you a far more detailed PM, with all the information on the current set up. Also Im using an Arduino Uno to run the displays .
