Event Title: Death By Pinball - The 5 Stages of Death - Easter Saturday the 16th of April 2022

Stage 1. Pallor Mortis - 9am to 1pm - 4 Hour Flip Frenzy

Firstly, using the matchplay.events software, each machine is randomly assigned two players. The remaining players are placed in one central queue

  • when a match is completed:
  • both players return to the tournament directors desk to record result
  • players will then be either assigned a new machine and opponent or placed in the queue
  • at the end of 4 hours no more games may start
  • ties broken by the most wins
  • winner is the player with the best win/loss ratio

Stage 2. Algor Mortis - 1pm to 7pm - Group Matchplay - 4 player groups/7 rounds/2 games per round

Using the matchplay.events software:

  • each round players will be assigned into random 4 player groups
  • groups will be assigned 2 random machines per round
  • all games will be played as a 4-player game (unless machine is unable to allow it)
  • groups play in the order randomly chosen by the software for each game
  • 7-5-3-1- scoring
  • player with the most points at the end of the final round is the winner
  • ties within the top 3 decided by count back or single head to head battle on a randomly assigned machine


Stage 3. Rigor Mortis - 7pm to 11pm - 4 Hour Flip Frenzy

Less than two weeks to our first Death by Pinball/Arcade in 3 years!!!

Can not wait. There are only 5 tickets remaining for the pinball event. Plenty of room for the arcade maniacs.

Just a quick reminder for ticket holders, you must complete all 5 events to have your results submitted to the IFPA. Failure to close the night out means you will forfeit your results from the completed events. Special considerations will be made on the night.

After 24 hours and 5 stages of death, only loosing a few during the process, we have the results.

1st - Jason Lambert @Lambo taking out the MVP, Rigor Mortis and True Death stages.

2nd - Russell Dagger @rusty_dagger winning the first stage Pallor Mortis and great placings in the others

3rd - Jimmy Nails @Jimmy Nails always placing in the top 10 consistently over the 5 stages.

Hey legends

Hope everyone is starting to feel back to normal. Was another incredible night. Thanks so much to everyone who attended. 

Am keen for some feedback on the format if anyone has any thoughts. Considering bringing in more classic games so the floor is 50% classic and 50% mid/new. Will then make banks of one old, one mid/new for the matchplay events. Also may consider making both matchplay events 7 rounds, 2 games per round.

Also think having a DJ was incredible and will definitely be asking Mr Benjamin Reeves back next year. I also liked seeing a couple of costume changes late in the night. May consider leaning in to that idea also 🙂

I double checked and edited the series results too.
