Kids basketball arcade.

Hey Peeps,

Im extremely new to fixing arcades but im keen to give it a crack. I purchased 2 kids basketball arcades, 1 working, 1 not. When getting it home the non working one has been extremely erratic, sometimes it works, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes 1/2 of it will work. I thought it might of been a dodgy tx as it buzz's hard but i do have 240v in and 16v out on each leg (2 legs) like the sticker informs me. I then have pulled every connection and gave a clean up with some contact cleaner. If i cycle power to to it alot it seems to get to different stages of booting up and playing. Was wondering what mght be my next step into fault finding.

Just guessing it may be a problem with the main board. Take the main pcb out of the good machine and plug into the faulty one. See if the problem follows

I took both pcb’s out of each unit and swapped them around. They both failed to run then. The working unit have a couple of extra boards in it which I’m assuming is for linking them together. I lifted all the chips in the cradles and gave them a clean up. The broken units board has had a repair done to it in the pass. I’ll post pics.

Yep it probably has something to do with that board which has had repairs on the faulty unit. Unless you’re handy with logic probes and schematics you will need to find a tech to look at it. Might be hard to find the manual for it though
