2022 QLD INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Now that everything IFPA is now back in full swing, I hereby announce the return of the 2022 QLD Invitational tournament.  This event was previously proposed to run as a secondary event back in 2020, in conjunction with the newly created 2020 QLD State Championship Series event, which will also return for 2022.

The QLD Invitational will follow the former and popular QLD State Championship qualifying process, culminating with the Invitational Final to take place on the same weekend as the IFPA QLD SCS Final in early 2023, with a date, venue and format to be confirmed.

QUALIFYING:

* All regular OPEN weekly/fornightly/monthly events will be included for QLD Invitational qualifying.  (eg.  Empire Mondays, The Park Mondays, Brisbane Pinball Club, Yaboola Pinball Club, etc. will be included)

* Qualification period for events runs 1st January 2022-31st December 2022, inclusive.

* Special once-off or feature weekend events are excluded from qualification.  (eg.  Launch parties, BPAC 2022, Coomera Classic, Belles & Chimes etc. events will NOT be included).

* Events MUST be IFPA Registered to be eligible for qualification.

* The Top 3 players in all eligible QLD IFPA events will qualify and receive official invitation to attend the QLD Invitational Final.

* In the event that a player in the Top 3 placing of an event has already qualified for the final, that spot will NOT be allocated to the player 'next in line'.

* Extra events may be included throughout the calendar year as they are created/added.

FINALS:

* To be held on the same weekend as the 2022 QLD State Championship Series Final.  (Early 2023 - Venue, date & format still to be confirmed)

* 4-5 rounds of 3 game Matchplay, Top 32 Main Finals, plus a Consolation final.

* All qualifiers will be sent an invitation to play in the event, with an estimated entry fee of approximately $30-$50 per person (To be confirmed later)

Stay tuned as more details are released in the near future, including a list of eligible events, and a list of qualifiers as the new year rolls in.

Hello Jason, so does this date to when the points re-started? Like can I let my punters know that places 1, 2, & 3 from the last few events have qualified?

Coming tonite? triple members draw?

It's for 2022 Dave.  None of the events from this year are included

It's been quite a while since the last update for the QLD Invitational, but I wanted to remind everyone that this will still be going ahead.  The current plan is to still run this event on the same weekend as the IFPA QLD Championship (Top 24), most likely being on Sunday 5th February, with a venue and location still to be advised.

I would like to personally thank Thibaut Allender for keeping track of all results from events right throughout 2022.  The Top 3 players from any regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly event will be eligible to participate in the Invitational Finals.

The current list of eligible players can be found here: QLD Invitational Qualifiers
