HI Wildballers,

Despite our best efforts to keep this COVID thing at bay, it would appear the current restrictions might put our next Meeting in jeopardy!

The NSW gathering rules for those in Greater Sydney limit the number of visitors to a home at 5. https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/rules/greater-sydney#visitors-allowed-at-a-residence

The usual number of Wildballers presenting at our gatherings is around 20. If the restrictions are still in play come the 10th July, we will have to postpone our Meeting yet again!

The Critical Response Committee is closely monitoring the situation, and have given a 'watch and act' Status. Should things change we will update the Status.

On behalf of the Board we wish you all a happy new financial year.

Hi Humans,

It is with a heavy heart I wish to inform you we have decided to postpone this weeks Wildball Meeting. I have contacted our Host. With the lockdown still in force until Friday it is too close to call. We do not want to cancel at the final moment. Amongst other things, our Hosts (Gabbo is new to Hosting) spend a huge amount of time, effort and money getting their collections ready for the Wildball Throng to enjoy. We would hate to have Gabbo (or any Host) endure all that only to be told on Friday or Saturday, the Authorities are keeping us in lockdown.

One hopes this is not the new norm, regardless we need to heed the calls from the experts and keep socially distant.

With Brisbane Masters featuring this month (the Board is aware of a number of our players will be attending..... hopefully), we will look a date next month.

I will keep you informed.

Until then, keep safe, wear a mask (just think of the Jim Carrey Movie) and play pinball.

Hi Wildballers,

Its been a few weeks since I messaged you all. Since that time we in Sydney have plunged further into COVID 19 misery. I trust you are all keeping safe and healthy in these crazy times.

I am sure I am not alone (pardon the pun) in COVID isolation (was a close contact at my local shops!).

As it does not appear this lockdown will be lifting any time soon, so I thought it might be fun (and therapeutic) if we kept connected and started to share what you might be doing to keep Meet/Comp 'fit'?

I am sure you all would have some great projects or game play to tell us about.

I can tell you that, I have vowed to get my Centaur to work..... reliably!! Working through its issues now- it is 40 years old!

At the same time I am practicing on Banzai Run, to see what happens when you get more than 45 laps of the ramp? Will post a pic of my progress.

I understand Rawdon is attempting to get the EBD world record. See here https://www.twingalaxies.com/game/ei...deluxe/pinball

What is the Wildball Throng doing in their collections? Tells us by posting here. I look forward to reading your posts.

Obviously until the restrictions on social gathering are lifted posting on AA is a great way for us to stay connected. This darkness will soon pass and we will unite, socialise and play pinball.

Since theres no Wildball I hired a game from Wildball legend Lindsay. @Pinlinds

Had only played a Stranger Things once before so it is good to have it at home to get into the rules of it.

Good theme integration and fun modes. Right orbit shot to nowhere is a bit annoying and I can only hit the demogorgon mouth 1 in a 100 shots but its a fun game.

The Upside down mode with the UV lights looks amazing. Playing it in a dark room makes it look even better.

Like @nich2patI too have hired a machine from Lindsey @Pinlinds, it was supposed to be for my 50th bash, but thought I could still use it in lockdown. Managing a game or three everyday!

I choose Led Zeppelin and am loving it. By far my favourite in terms of Band themes, the kids are getting some good 🤟 education. Very flow based and heaps of Multiball modes. Really enjoying having a new machine in the house.

Took a week or so, but finally knocked Aaron aka ACE off for Grand Champ.

Missing you all - virtual hugs 🤗 for all!!!

Cheers 🍻 Tez

Swapped out Stranger Thing for Led Zep. Took a few games but managed to knock Tez off GC.

I think there are too many multiballs in this game. And the songs need so many shots to complete them. Good flow though.

Knew it wouldn’t take you long, you’ve always been a better player Pat! I just hope to have 1 score left by the time you’re done 🤞

I left it steep and never put level right, hope you did same.

Agree re: multi-balls, the add a ball was a weird feature too, massive flow game, one for the shot makers.

Had been trying for the 10 songs, best I could muster was 7 - good luck.

Hi Skids,

what did Pharaoh replace?

I don't think Pharoah replaced anything? maybe a reshuffle? Vector was next to Devils Dare previously. The last game out was Big Game project, last completely running game Rollergames

HI Wildballers.

It has been too long since I posted on this Page. I trust all is well for the Group and extended families as we move toward the Festive season. Wonder how many pinball machines will be under the Christmas Tree this year?

Aside from the COVID issue, over the past three or four months, a few things have meant I have had to place Pinball much lower in my priorities, hence the radio silence.

Drawing to the end of the year I usually have the honour of heaping praise on this years Champion. Sadly this is the second year we were unable to play and watch a finals season.

Obviously, social restrictions have stopped our ability to meet, and whilst they were lifted (and IFPA began to sanction events again). It was decided not to resume due to fears of bringing the virus into our gracious hosts homes. It is one thing to meet in a pub to play, but another to arrange these gatherings in private homes.

I do hope we can resume early in 2022. I will be reaching out to our Hosts just after Christmas to gauge their appetite for putting together a season. With the state of affairs being so ‘minute by minute’ on the social gathering front, we will see what the future brings.

On a lighter note I recently attended (with other Pinball Luminaries), the grand opening of Wildballs Centre Par Excellence (Read - Roger Zs Barcade in Redfern).

The Centre Par Excellence was constructed to developed our most gifted players (read all of you) to achieve high success on the world Pinball Stage. We will be making use of this Wildball facility a few times over the course of next year.

And yet another note, this maybe off topic but, I have decided to thin out my collection and will be selling off some of my machines shortly. I would prefer to offer them to interested parties first. The first to go will be Rapid Fire – I know it is not a pinball machine is the true sense, but it works. The cabinet is in good shape. The backglass is sealed with a little lifting at the bottom. It has two 7 digit displays, a squawk n talk and an alltek board.

PM me if you are interested. the other machines I will be offloading will come online is I get them out of storage.

On behalf of the Wildball Board, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous and healthy new year.
