Newbie here Needs help with a crane game machine. everytime the claw misses

So i checked my string first and it seems to be on there pretty good. It worked find until I moved it by the way. So when the claw drops without hitting a prize it does not hit the bottom, instead it almost hits the bottom, goes up, the claw will close then the claw drops again closed, but now it hits the bottom,then it goes back up and back to the prize shoot. When it does hit a prize, that black pulley will drop like normal and pick up the prize.
