so, strange times. like some of the work is easy but man have though why so many times.

parts from america are very slow and have been for months.

another step forward. she is up on legs, as described 'picnic table' will do a count of games but there weren't many made with this style.

new chrome bolts, internal 3/8" leg plates all around and stainless steel 3/8" washers. notice the third bolt goes into the metal rods that run side to side.

game sits like a tank. might also explain why the large timber bell style lockdown bar.

want to notice something cool? notice on the 1st photo above the top of the leg. look at the cab, there is a cigarette burn there. if only this old girl could talk. some dude in france back in the day left his smoke there while playing.

this thing is like a tank. all the legs and all associated hardware replaced. this type of game was known as picnic table legs cabinet.

gottlieb started to use this style in 1954 and only used them on 7 games. sea belles being the last one. all were multi player games.

not sure what to do at the moment with the front door.

door update, stencils made, sanded back to timber.

had paint matched at bunnings.

now have glue and clamps on the door to repair the crack. will also fill in chips of timber missing along the bottom of the door.

soaked the coin entrance plate in vinegar for 12 hours and took the dremil to it. once it came up okay then sprayed with clear.

not much today but still pushing forward.

got pretty good results with the 6 metal rollovers. soaked in vinegar for 24 hours, took the dremil with a soft wire brush and some wax. they came up great. sadly then hit them with a few coats of clear, they look dull now.

have the first colour on the door, will let it sit for a few days before applying the last colour.

also ordered a new set of mirror blades for her off @Railways today. they are meant for another era of game but will get the angle grinder out and make some adjustments

making a point of doing something everyday.

not much today. just rebuilt the knocker.

only reason posted to show just what the condition of all the metal is like inside the cab (hammered). also note that the sleeve on the coil is made of brass. these sleeves also don't slide out like the nylon ones do.

so one of the best tools i have ever bought was this set of wire brushes from bunnings. the entire set only cost $10 and have lasted years. so took one of the wires brushes and put it in the drill to clean out the brass sleeve.

also note that the bottom of the cab had been broken into 3 times back in the day.

Slowly chipping away at it Tony. Coming along great. Parts are ridiculously slow at the moment. I’ve had some mods stuck at Chicago for 3 weeks now. There and Texas seem to be the worst as they only have about a third of the workers they need from what I’ve been told. Love seeing this old girl coming back.

slooooowly, have the door all ready for the 2nd colour which i'll start on tomorrow.

all taped up and using the millsy method sealed the inside edge of the tape with the same base colour.

this really helps to stop the bleed.

have started on the timber rails and will finish them tomorrow.
