Lets face it everybody is obsessed with apps and if it's not an app it can't possibly be easy right?...and we certainly don't want to tap the screen more than we have to! :redface

Tapatalk was great for the old site because it lacked mobile functionality however AA is an old school forum and Tapatalk while simplified, doesn't give you the full AA experience with many features missing.

Aussie Arcade now has an reactive design meaning the browser version will and should work on any device without the need of apps (even though the browser is an app)

 

Here's how you add AA as a shortcut to your home screen on your Mobile phone or Tablet so you only need to click once to open it. (I just worked this out myself).

First open up AA on your browser http://www.aussiearcade.com and make sure your logged in and on the front page.

 

Google Chrome.

Click on the 3 vertical dots icon at the top right to open this menu.

Click on "Add to Home screen" as circled above.

Done.

You need to make sure you have an open spot on your home screen otherwise it wont work.

 

Firefox.

Click on the 3 vertical dots icon at the top right to open this menu.

Click on Page

Then Click on "Add Page Shortcut"

Done

If somebody can provide the screen shots for Safari that would be great.

 

Mobile/Tablet Navigation.

For those of you looking at the mobile version of AA scratching your head wondering where the main menu is.

If you want to navigate back to the front page of the site tap on "Forums" in that menu at the top or tap on the AA banner at the top.

Can you get me a screen shot on how to set up a home screen shortcut please? Not everybody know how to do it.

I'll have to look up how to make a home screen icon :unsure on android its just a big red A

Step 1

 

Load up AA in your browser and tap the square box with the arrow pointing up

 

Step 2

 

Scroll down and tap “Add to home screen”

 

Step 3

 

Rename your AA shortcut if you like, and then tap “Add”

 

Done!

Thanks a bunch mate and thanks for bringing it to my attention about the icons, things sure have come a long way since the favicon.ico days.

Using a cool site I just found https://realfavicongenerator.net/ I was able to make a set of home icons for all platforms and they supply the code you need also 10/10

:D real happy.

Now you can redo yours but make sure this time you're on the front of the forum not in the search :p

Just found out something interesting today.

If you don't already have AA on your home screen on a android device and open the site up in Chrome this happens.

Not sure if it will work on IOS but cool just the same.
