1.21 Gigawatts
Recently completed the family room console cabinet. A little more cable tidying to complete but otherwise really happy with the outcome. waali
Thanks. Unit would easily support a 65" TV, I used 8 kitchen legs which are quite strong. Wall mount the TV and run the wiring in the wall, it'll look better. We used an older 46" bravia on a pivot wall mount as the couch is against the wall on the left side. I rotated one of the vertical panels and had to drill out, slightly, one of the smaller panels so the dowels would fit. The panel was left out for a couple of reasons, to create more space around the xbox's, they create a lot of heat, and so the wii sensor could be mounted centrally. The is no mdf behind the middle section due to heat. Pics of air gap and kitchen legs, kick panel clips below.
waali
Rebuilt the upper middle shelves to a single unit, shuffled the consoles around a little and tidied up all the wiring... much nicer.
waali
Found a few goodies at K-Mart. Pac-Man lamp and Gadget decals. Upgraded the N64, Megadrive and Saturn scart cables to RGC scart. Cable fixed the ghosting on the N64, supersharp picture now. Megadrive and Saturn were already good so no difference there. waali
clean set up! how do you like the CBOX MVS? I picked one up recently and it's been pretty good. Thanks. I really like the CBOX. Playing with Sega Saturn arcade sticks has been a lot of fun! Aesthetically though I don't understand why they didn't move the player 1 inputs a little further left and put the power button in the middle, it would've looked nicer. :unsure On mine the battery was still original and had some corrosion so I replaced it. I also removed the hacked universe bios chip and replaced it with an adaptor and a legit Universe Bios v4.0 Lastly I cut the audio wires on the scart cable connector and wired in rca's as the RGBs connector only outputs mono. st_surlizmo
Nice going with the mods! I haven’t got a monitor that takes rgb scart yet so have just been running via s-video. Picture quality is pretty good but has some slight noise/interference. Other than that it’s been great so far. Also need to hunt down some Saturn sticks ;)

I'm currently running all my consoles on a consumer Trinitron CRT but have been thinking about using an upscaler of some sort to run via my HDTV ;) Do you get much input lag with this unit from aliexpress? waali
I few updates and a major overhaul in the works. No photos atm. Additions: - MS2 from a mate added to the collection, converted it to S-video. Have a second unit on the way to convert to RGB. - PS2, needed a new button battery. - OSSC, not plugged in as yet. Items on the way: PS1, DC and SNES from a forum member. Multicarts, HDD adapter and RGB cables, among others. gscartsw 8 port scart switch Looking for a NES to complete the collection. Overhaul: Plan on adding all the new consoles to the Kallax unit with a bunch of custom shelves. Will lose the drawers but plan to make a container for the controllers, etc. that will slide under the couch.
waali
PS1, Gamecube, Dreamcast and SNES have arrived and look great! Thank you redferatu! Also picked up a NES in decent condition yesterday. Now for a bunch of cleaning/modding. RGB all of the things.
waali
Pics of the latest additions below. Spend some time cleaning (sandpaper and plastic polish) the GameCube and while its lost the texture its now back to its original colour. Last pic shows the darkening against the finished lid. waali
The last of the consoles arrived today. Technically not a console but it will be consolised, no hole drilling though. New old stock Atomiswave with second hand expansion covers and Knights of Valor, this thing is mint. Edited February 6, 2019 by waali
redferatu
What drew you to the atomiswave? Dolphin and metal slug are pretty good, but everything else I didn't really get into or there were perfectly good ports. waali
Progress pics of a drawer I'm building to go under the family room couch for storing all the controllers. 1600x800ish. A little sanding left to go then a few layers of paint. From left to right the 4 sections are: 1: Sega 2: Atari, Neo Geo, USB, carts and other. 3: Playstation and XBox 4: Nintendo Edited February 20, 2019 by waali
waali
Update: Drawer is almost finished with a coat of paint left to go. Update pics later this week. During the week I picked up a CPS2 A/B and two Atomiswave carts, Dolphin Blue and Repo copy of Metal Slug 6. I've also been looking for an Atomiswave sticker for a while now without success so made my own using the missus Selphy printer and some double sided tape, not half bad and better than nothing. redferatu
I just know the Neo geo carts, Megadrive and SNES ones are seen as system killers by people in the know. Might be worth looking at. Sent from my HTC 2PZF1 using Tapatalk
