Ok, let me know what you think.

Working on incorporating onboard negative 5V in the next version. Just have to test if the IC I plan on using has enough current. Also managed to squeeze in a mini voltmeter and a switch to toggle between 5/12V.

I've ordered one of those mini ATX Pico power supplies, will be interesting to see if it has enough power.

Also made a crude ATX to arcade PSU power cable. Works really well and provides an alternative for power. Have ordered some parts to fabricate it a bit nicer.

40 bucks what a bargain

Id have said the same thing even at much more than this, that really is cheap!

What would $40 get you these days? Not much!!

Frank, i might need a list of all these little kits youre making and selling, as you know im really short on time lately, but it wont always be that way, and when time becomes available im going to be buying some stuff ;)

I'm waiting for a new batch of boards to arrive @NEO-GEO Man

Excited to test things out as this latest version of the supergun has onboard negative 5V generation and a voltmeter.

I'm also happy to announce that I have developed a Snes to Neo Geo controller adapter. These will be available shortly.

Yeah mate sounds great!

I just spent close to a week in hospital and im not in great shape at the moment, so i still havent got round to doing that Master System mod you sent me yet, but as you could imagine, im hangin out for a bit of soldering and creating!

When time permits, you and i will be doing some trading ;)

Man I sincerely hope your bad luck is at an end now!

Hope you recover soon, I can provide you with lots of fun things to solder! :)

Yeah mate its been a tough 12 months between me and the mrs in hospital, gettin there slowly though!

This board does basically exactly the same as the one i made about 10 years ago, but mine is just wire everywhere and 2 DB15 sockets, with an 8 pin DIN for RGB out. Its an absolute mess of wire, but i know where they all go so i never cared ;)

This on the other hand is a nice looking worthwhile project, and that makes it worth a go for me!

Good to hear cos I just sent you a Supergun in kit form for you to have fun soldering together! Hope it cheers you up a little bit and I hope your postage address is the same as where I sent the switchless MS kit to.

Just a heads up for anyone using my supergun or a similar supergun with an ATX power connector...

Ordered one of those cheap mini ATX pico power supplies and it works a treat. Extremely compact and thus far has had enough power to run all boards I've put through it. Much more convenient than a bulky traditional PSU, would suit an enclosed supergun design really well I think.

Ive got a fair few old ATX PSUs laying around ill probably use, some of them are buggered and need the green wire bridged so theyll stay on. All the units i have can easily supply enough current for any JAMMA arcade board, except maybe a NEO•GEO Hyper 64, they did pull a fair bit of power.

Does this supergun board have the ability to do MVS type connectors as well or is it only JAMMA?

Posted

It handles the MVS audio via a switch. Input is taken care of. I think the only thing missing is the SELECT button which can be resolved by only inserting a single cart.

As far as I know, all MVS variants should work fine.
