Candy cab appreciation thread. I want candy!

Recommended Posts

More CRT = More goodness.

However, as both of those cabs are meant to be LCD, this is acceptable :D

Thanks ;-). They come into their own on LCD titles. I missed out on a Chewlix like yours on GT yesterday for $1k. Dwelled on it too long but would have set it up as a tate for shooters.

Been a bit of a dry spell lately with the cabinets (waiting on set of 5380 locks for the NAC and some fresh Sanwa buttons and sticks for both the NAC & NNC). Until...…

Care package from none other than the man himself @mR_CaESaR ! Two conversions here SSF2X & AvP (new sticker soon) a nice A board, an auxiliary harness for the Jammafier, and some goodies for future net-dimm.

Pics of AvP when I get around to it. I have now had the attract/bootup theme of SSF2X in my head for 3 days 😀 . Hope everyone's well.

Zax recently sold a pair to a mate of mine for a very fair price given what they were originally asking. While they're not on the site anymore, if you're really keen I suppose you could give him a try haha.

Also do you mean the screws that secure the bracket into fibreglass body of the astro? I think they're the same ones used in the control panel hinge, at least they screwed in just as easily for this Astro 2 I'm slowly restoring ':^) I'll do a count on any spares I have kicking about incase you can't find anything more local.

Sure, doesn’t hurt to ask! Haha

Screw wise it’s the 3 screws on the bottom of the bracket, 1 on the top, and the wing nut screw, but I can likely source similar ones from eBay/Bunnings so not the end of the world in that regards.

Hey guys

I've been offered multiple SNK Candy 26 cabs at ~$1500 USD each in Japan - this does not include shipping to be clear. I will be buying one. If you're interested please let me know.

These are 26 inch cabs with rotation mechs.

I think this will all have to happen pretty quickly if you are interested.

Cheers

It looks like this:

neo26.jpg.0cab62605549f4b76b3c376d14785ce9.jpg

It's a jamma (i.e. not MVS) cab. It has a screen rotate mechanism. They have MS8-26s. They're OG. They're obviously very rare (not sure that's a good thing, but anyway). I don't know how many would have made it to Australia.

That's all I've got. Not evangelising anyway, just opening up an opportunity for anyone like minded.

Was directed here from my thread to mention about panels I released a cad file for that you can buy.

I found it hard to get a 2L16B panel for my Astro City which uses the newer 8 button layout that modern fightsticks, games, consoles new and old systems use and is the panel that came with the Sega Virtua Stick Pro for the Saturn, these HSS-130 units are going for $1,000 AUD for info.

I worked with FrancoB who did the Sega Cad files most may be familiar with to make the CAD for the 2L16B panel, this is as accurate one can get to a official Virtua Stick Pro.

As I found it hard to find panels in this configuration I developed the CAD file and in discussion with a company San Star Game we are doing a run of 2L16B panels with or without artwork, comes not attached, if we can get 50 total orders for them.

This is what the panel will look like with artwork from a Virtua Stick Pro scan I used to do the CAD file.

Total cost of panel shipped with artwork is $91AUD by my own order status.

You can place the order, cancel the payment and wait for confirmation as it will be retained for 30 days and I hope we can get 50 orders by then.

Panels can be purchased here.

Hi you lot,

Hope everyone ok both physically and mentally during the current stuff going on, recapped a Sega System 16B other week (bit of a mission it was too). Everything worked out in the end, caps were a mixture of mostly Nichicon and some smaller value Wurth Electronics. Supercap (C35 0.1uf 5.5v was also done to retain high scores again).

Got lucky with the 16B seems to be a later revision board that doesn't run the encrypted CPU/Sound CPU, so a good candidate for the Apocalypse multi very soon.

Stay safe everyone
