Control panel wiring

See if you can change out that power switch to a double pole and switch the neutral as well.

Keep it nice and legal and safe that way.

Fantastic thread, keep up the fantastic work:)

Sliders.

(For the holes to be of the exact right diameter and to slide smoothly without any play, I filled them with Builder's Bog, greased the end of the rods, inserted them in the holes, let it all dry and then just pulled the rods out. Now all nice and snug. I still had to polish the rods quite a lot and flood the whole thing with lithium grease but I'm now happy enough with the result.)

Is that an AS3533 amusement specific requirement? Nothing in AS3000 about it.

Not sure if you have seen the KLOV thread about the repro tilt panel?

http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=391880

I hadn't seen it no, thanks!

Not clear to me what part exactly is being reproduced there!? The control panel? But then the CPO has been available at chompingquarters for a long time, and the board is wood and metal, no plastic involved!?

Taito Ice Cold Beer scratch build

Damn! I just finished mine! :.(

(No print yet though.)

Should I get a proper replica.. should I not..

I'd definitely need to adjust the trough..

Repro for sure at that price but I'd want to see some photos.

Then again are your displays going to fit?

Yeah I'd most likely need to adjust the displays too..

I think I'll just continue with my own, it'll also make it easier for me to match the panel and the playfield yellows when I get to print the graphics. (Or at least that's my excuse.)

Ball rod control first test.

Stepper motors a little too weak for now, you can hear the left one missing steps. Will need to address that, somehow.

Keep up the good work on this build. Its great to see the effort you are putting into it, plus the usual or unusual issues that have to be overcome . Cant wait to see the final product !

:bump:

@mcpit - did you ever finish this project?

I'm looking at building something like this, though at this stage not at the high quality finish you've managed. Looking to learn how to wire up and program an Arduino to keep my brain working more than to reproduce a replica ICB machine.

Not looking to copy, though I've already seen enough of this thread to help me out :lol I'd like to make my own build without seeing how someone else (you or Taito) did it.

Anyway, just wondering if you ever finished this off.

Moved house/state, changed job, set up new gameroom new workshop, other projects got in the way, but ICB scratch build back on the workbench very soon! (And I got proper linear ball bearings this time.. will go much better..)

Can I ask if you still have the plans for the playfield in a vector file or something by chance? I found some stuff online (pinside) but either I'm doing something wrong opening it, or it's not right. The guy putting that particular one together was doing some interesting stuff with round LEDs inside the home holes which I think changed things.

Not that I think I'd ever finish such a project, and definitely not to the quality you're producing, I do find the mechanics of the game interesting and have recently been playing around with both a Arduino and now PCDuino.
