Defender
Maybe just splash out and buy one from the us? They seem to go for about 2k plus, and maybe to make it worth while, add something else you like, or find someone else who wants something to share the costs? pinmike
The new 19s apparently are 6 button support so maybe they now use all buttons for defender Maybe cheapest and most reliable option atm ? Mine has the 6 button and runs on the original control panel no problem at all, There were 2 versions of the 19 in 1 board, you just had to make sure you got the right one. A seller over here was selling them (6 button version) 19 in 1 for $120 NZ

Rat
I have not played a 19in1 myself but feedback from Defender experts is they run a really old version of mame that emulates Defender terribly. Sent from my SM-G920I using Tapatalk
Jason_roberts13
If you end up getting one from the states and can get it to long beach California, I could get you in touch with someone i know of that has a holding yard there and ships containers to sydney every month. Used to charge around $500 aud shipping a couple years back, which includes everything. You just pay gst and any duty if required. It's been a while since I've heard so not sure if he still does it anymore, but it may be an option for you
Defender
I contacted a guy in Alabama and he said that he could send an arcade direct to Sydney for about $1,250 USD. I haven't followed up with any more details on further costs once it hits Australia, as yet?
Sam J
Cheers for the info and offers guys. Ive got a mixing desk to sell, so when I get that sorted, I'll out the feelers out on Klov and start having a serious look at the costs of importing. Super Moderator WOKA Posted January 8, 2016 Super Moderator Share Posted January 8, 2016 Moreso being the quarantine aspect of old wooden equipment. Fumigation, visual inspection etc.. You could be lucky and it just breezes through. Perhaps. Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk

Sam J
That looks great! Played well? I don't mind smaller control panels if it's 1p - - - Updated - - - Here's some pictures of my original LAI Defender that I had years ago. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z111/johnsarcade/2007_0613Image0027aa_1.jpg http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z111/johnsarcade/2007_0613Image0030a.jpg Regards, Johns-Arcade. I think this might have been in the thread I found. I remember loving the rub through make on the control panel…. some solid play there!
Johns-Arcade
The game played nicely, but had a bootleg board (Same as the Williams 4 board set) fitted. I sold this game years ago and from memory included a second control panel that didn't have as much wear. Regards, Johns-Arcade,

Sam J
Id be happy to restore a hacked Taito (red and black) Defender….. LAI either version…. any dedicated Defender really. Tried playing the 19 in 1 for a while, but felt useless without the right control panel.
