Need help!! Multi board problems.

Georgieboy

Question

Hi everyone, new to the website and need help with figuring out this multi board I have.

I've bought my first arcade machine and I'm new to this.. It's a street fighter cabinet that has a 1024 games. It's called Games family and I don't have a Manuel for it. So My problem is I can't get any credits on any of the games. I spoke to the previous owner to find out if he had a credit button set up.. He has told me its inside on the door and there are 4 red credit buttons should be one of them.... Well I've tested all four and still no credits!!! Can anyone please help? It would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to AA

These particular multiboards are based on a PC with an add-on peripheral board to connect things to the real world. They are notoriously unreliable and always cause grief.

IMO (note that part carefully as some others will disagree) I would throw this POS board as far as I could and put a 60in1 game board in as they are EMBEDDED controller based and 2000 times more reliable - they are also only about $80~100

the game box has a usb or ps/2 keyboard port you can -

1.turn off machine then plug in a keyboard .

2.turn on machine and go through usual steps to select a game you want to play.

3.when your in the game and its showing the demo/ insert coin screen.

press 5 or 6 on your keyboard as they are the keys assign to the credits.

Getting the machine credit button fixed in the long run would be far better that the method above.

hope that helps as a temporary measure.

I would stick with the 1024in1 board if you can get it going.

Make sure the harness is plugged into the board properly.

Follow the wires from those 4 buttons inside the door back to the jamma harness (pin 16) to see which one is actually the credit button.

Or if you have a multimeter, then that would be a lot easier.

Does it have a coin mech ? if it has, put a coin in it or if its a mechanical coin mech there will be a micro switch on the mech where the coin drops out, just give that a few flicks.

If none of that works, id say the top board is faulty !

Also as someone said before, maybe take some pictures !

How do you post pictures on here?

If it is a Games Family make sure he has not got the setup Dip switch on..

Has been known to stop the board from crediting..

Is that switch one number 4?

Switch two has 1 and 2 on and 3, and 4 are off. Switch one, has 1,2 on and 3 and 4 off

Will be switch 2 number 4.

Here's manual for the 2019in1, it should be the same board:

have you any pics of the coin door/ credit button.

I'd be looking at the coin switch first to see if you have a loose wire or faulty button. then check if the credit wires register a credit by touching together. then work backwards to the harness for dodgy wiring and then the dip switches.

Hopefully it might be a faulty switch.. Will have to unplug and hit the wires together and hopefully the works.

?Keep in mind a cabinet setup like this with 4 service buttons was designed to run through an accumulative credit board with display in games like Turtles and simpsons.. It wont be a direct connection to the jamma edge connector...

Just wire a new button.....
