Road to Pinburgh 2020 - RGR - 50kg weightloss challenge

Had a word to Mad Gaz the other day and we both agreed that narrow bodies cost less to maintain than wide bodies. As a result I have decided to challenge myself and attempt to lose 50kgs or more by the time Pinburgh 2020 comes around. Thats 14.5 months away (August 2020).

Given how hard this is going to be I would really apreciate support from the pinball playing community and have set up a gofundme page which I hope will pay for the trip to the states.

    https://www.gofundme.com/road-to-pinburgh-2020

    or

    CommBank

    ACC: 1122 9257

I have gone and set up a escro type bank account with RyanC. This is so that everyone knows that I will not run off with the donations.. not that I was going to anyway....This means that both Ryan and myself have to sign off to withdraw the funds. I have also had Ryan witness me on the scales to confirm that I have videod my starting weight (he did not see my weight). This video will be shown at the end of the campaign.

If I do not lose the weight in that time, then all the funds go to charity, namely https://www.parkinsonsvic.org.au/get-involved/donate/

I have chosen this charity due to my step father dying of this some years ago when he was disgnosed when he was 48, 1 year after he married my mum. She looked after him for 22 years and it took its toll on her as well.

Ok so, there is no time limit on when you can donate and as a thank you for supporting me I have decided that I will give away a % of my profits if I cash in Pinburgh and ACS. I will also donate a % of those profits to Aussie Arcade and Project Pinball.

**** Keep in mind when making donations a tip is not compulsory. Just select "other" then enter $0.00 *** The site takes 2.9% from every donation made.

So all you have to do is pick my starting weight (I was weighed on May 4). To give an idea, I am 189cm. The winner will be the closest to my starting weight and will potentially win the following:

Place and payouts for A grade at Pinburgh (USD)

    1: $15000
    2: $7500
    3: $4000
    4: $2500
    5-8: $1200
    9-16: $700
    17-28: $500
    29-40: $350

    Donation Place--------% prize

    $5-$49

    --------29-40--------100% (350 usd)
    --------17-28--------50% (250 usd)
    --------9-16--------25% (175 usd)
    --------5-8--------15% (180 usd)
    --------4--------10% (250 usd)
    --------3--------10% (400 usd)
    --------2--------10% (750 usd)
    --------1--------10% (1500 usd)

    $50-$99

    --------29-40--------100% (350 usd)
    --------17-28--------100% (500 usd)
    --------9-16--------75% (525 usd)
    --------5-8--------50% (600 usd)
    --------4--------30% (750 usd)
    --------3--------20% (800 usd)
    --------2--------20% (1500 usd)
    --------1--------20% (3000 usd)

    $100+

    --------29-40--------100% (350 usd)
    --------17-28--------100% (500 usd)
    --------9-16--------100% (700 usd)
    --------5-8--------60% (720 usd)
    --------4--------50% (1250 usd)
    --------3--------50% (2000 usd)
    --------2--------50% (3750 usd)
    --------1--------50% (7500 usd)

Place and payouts for B grade at Pinburgh

    1: $4000
    2: $2000
    3: $1250
    4: $1000
    5-8: $700
    9-16: $500
    17-28:$350
    29-40:$350

I may qualify for B grade so the equivalent %s will be applied to the above place wins.

There will also be a comp for the person who picks my finishing weight or closest to. Winner of finishing weight gets 10% of any potential ACS winnings (2020 at Tweeds Heads). 10% will also be set aside for Aussie Arcade.

If you are lucky enough to pick the start and finish weight then you will get 30% of my ACS winnings (along with Pinburgh) and I will give 20% to AA.

Winners in US will be credited at Pinburgh. Project Pinball will take a portion should someone from the states pick the starting weight.

Thanks very much for taking part. This challenge will start on May 20. I will provide weekly updates. Please let me know via PM or on Facebook of both my starting and finishing weight. I guess you can post it on this thread as well.

Should the donations go over $5000 then I will donate all amounts over that to both the Parkinsons and Project Pinball charities equally.

When you provide your guesses for starting and finishing weight please do it to one decimal place eg: 78.6 kgs.

Wishing you good luck Richard! Are you going to post the weight loss program you are following? Perhaps a fortnightly update on the H2H podcast or a livestream each month cooking your fav recipe?

Will just post my progress in terms of amount lost. Might have it so the cut off date for goal weight is at the end of the year. I guess people can decide what my starting weight is right upto when the challenge finishes.
