I can't take anymore, my hand is starting to hurt. I was using an Atari CX80 joystick with a 9pin to USB dongle, turned the joystick slightly clockwise so the red button is facing the top. Was never good at this game and never really played it since I never seen an actual cab. Not a bad score anyway, still happy.

Oooops - just plain ran out of time to play with the Galaga event here in Brisbane, congrats Jason V, looks like you got me big time.

I was super keen to play on a real cab this weekend while Warren Davis (co-creator of Q*Bert) was in town, but time was just against me.

I'll be going for it at some stage, minimum 1 mil on a real cab, but hopefully I'll go for a top 10 score which is 20 hours and is about the limit I can stay awake at my age :)

Day 17 of 17.

Final Results ...

Never an easy game to control without a lot of practice. Never an easy pyramid color change without a lot of strategy. Q*bert sure did offer everyone a taste of 3D jumping on a crazy game board. John73, Fliplismc, SMK, redelf, ILLSeaBass, RichyS, RMacauley, CrazyKongFan and DaLar took out 2nd to 10th place respectively for well earned scores from 111K up to 329K.

Congratulations to Jason Vasiloff for winning the race to the highest Q*bert score. Coily and his gang had a tough time catching him. Well played.

Arabian, Pac-Land and Sky Kid are the games currently in play. They are a large variety of challenges in the countdown to the finish. Every point counts.

:)

where did you get the 9-pin to USB dongle? I wouldn't mind having something like that and using my old Wico Command stick :) (at least for 1 button games) Oh yeah, and isn't the CX80 a trackball? :unsure

Played this at New Haven Barcade.

I know it’s too late but just thinking of the MGL.

New Haven Barcade. That's your local arcade bar.

What did you have to drink and eat? Was it BurgerTime? (pun intended). They've got one. Do you still have to put in a quarter to play a game? Any 2 quarters or more?

Excellent!

I didn’t eat. Mostly burgers and fried food there and I tend to eat healthier stuff. I had a few beers - mostly local brews. They have a large revolving craft beer tap list.

The picture is pretty recent as they recently relocated the Donkey Kong machine to the spot in the picture. They made room for a Missile Command which is now next to the Ms. PAC (runs the speed hack). I forgot how BIG the original trackball was for MC. I always remember the cigarette burns in the CPO from people resting their lit butts above the 1-2 player buttons.

So yes - that is THE machine I played on. The pin next to it is an Adams Family with a color DMD. There is a new “Dialed In” pin to the right of that one.

I spoke to the manager and actually told him about Netherworld and how they do pins for scores etc.

Barcade has an app also. I’ve been to several of their locations. The Manhattan one has an EDoT. I’m planning to visit the Los Angeles location while I’m on vacation there in July.

They do a great job but Netherworld is probably the best I’ve ever been to.

They use tokens. All games take one token except for pins. Their Burgertime is to the left of the Gauntlet 2.

I played the Mappy a few times as well. Always liked that game.

This Barcade is about a 20-30 minute drive from me.
