Quarter scale Pac-Man for pre-order

Recommended Posts

Has anyone heard about these 1/4 scale Pac-Man machines

http://www.numskull.com/quarter-arcades/

Very authentic looking and seem to play well too based on limited reviews on youtube

They are planning Galaga, Galaxian and Ms Pac-Man ones too.

Local pricing is around $278 and can pre-order from JB, EB Games or Zing (owned by EB) for delivery early Dec 2018.

JB seems to need full payment (and delivery only), EB is $50 and Zing is $10 upfront and seem to be able to pickup at EB stores.

Would be cool if they can be hacked for a multi-game but I guess a game that uses more than a joystick would be handier. Might need to wait a little.

I was planning to build a 1/4 scale Donkey Kong (and others) if I ever get some spare time as my little CNC router can handle the size.

god, they're getting smaller....

17" tall and a 5" display it's little more than a novelty

Yeah, bit of a gimmick but I like the authenticity of it compared to other crap that has been spat out over the years.

I built a miniature donkey kong cab earlier in the year. It sits in my office at work. Plays surprisingly well and I have mastered it one handed.

Sits 30cm tall and houses a 7 inch screen

4 way joystick

Raspberry pi zero w

It has emulation station with all custom artwork, layout and video previews

about 80 4 way joy single button games, mame only.

Built in a week for about $100 in materials and parts

Look cool, where did you order from and how much landed here?

I ordered straight from New Wave when it was on sale. It cost $174USD total with shipping. Pretty steep but I love the Centipede art so was sucked in.

Nice work!

What buttons and joysticks did you use?

Cheap shipping if it was only $14 extra on top of their $160 cab price. Works out around the same price as Pac-Man or a little cheaper.

Joystick:

Start buttons:

Jump button:

24mm sanwa w/ inbuilt microswitch I had laying around for yrs

Thanks for that. I suspected a full size joystick and 24mm sanwa (I was just looking for some green ones yesterday for my AWSD) but didn't know what the small ones were. Makes it all very playable which is the unfortunate thing about the Quarter Scale ones but they are OK apparently.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have the Replicade Centipede as well, it's a miniature masterpiece. Will be buying all the future ones they come out with, you can certainly tell they are enthusiasts. The sale is well worth it!

Also have the 1/4 scale Pac-Man on pre-order at EB. Can't get enough of these things!
