Why does my Bally fireball classic flipper assembly look different then the kit?

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I’ve been slowly getting my pinball up and running and the clippers need attention so I started looking online for a rebuild kit but all seem to be sold out/obsolete.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a kit from and will the kit match my existing assembly as they look a lot different?

Or has someone attached the wrong assembly?.

Thanks heaps

Adrian

They look different because they are Gottlieb series 1 flipper assemblies which are pretty much bullet proof, (when the return spring is maintained and not broken like your looks like it is), however, they have slightly less stroke than the original Bally parts and because of all the extra steel used in the flipper bat base plate, adds a lot of weight to the flipper with slows them.

These are what were originally fitted made by Bally.....

And these are what you have fitted now....

Thanks heaps for ur reply,it all makes sense now. I like the idea of them being pretty much bullet proof. The spring is there and intact so should be ok. The only issue is the plastic locating pin is snapped off on one of the flipper assemblies (see pic) so hopefully I can get a part now I know what I’m looking for.

I ordered some new flippers last night (see link) so hopefully these will fit with these gottlieb assembly?.

Thanks again

No, your linked flippers will not work as the shaft is to thin. Your flippers will have parts like this...note the diameter of the shaft...

The good news is this part doesn't fail and all you need is the bat that screws to this and you can get them here in Australia...

As for your plunger having the guide broken off, they don't make them with the guide any longer because you guessed it, they broke off....
