Demolition Man - lower left GI flicker / low power

Anth87

Question

Ah pinball fix one thing and something else pops up.

Removed driver board to replace BR5.

Now lower left GI flicker / low power (see photo)

Things I’ve tried;

Checked connectors in backbox - no sign of burned connectors

Taken out every gi bulb on left side - interesting when I did this first bulb was really bright but as I connected more bulbs the lights got dimmer

Reseated every connector and ribbon cable on power driver board

It’s REALLY annoying me!

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

You need to ensure that the pins out are delivering the required voltage. You start up the chain to narrow your fault finding process. Get the manual and find the pins that deliver the gi voltage. They separate the circuit - that’s why some are on. You have a line out that originates from one pin on the board that may not be delivering 6.3v

You need to check for ac voltage. I would be careful and try to understand some basics first or you may do some board damage. YouTube is your friend. Sometimes it’s better spending the 300 on getting someone out to fix and show you the ropes if you have little or no experience
