2019 QLD State Pinball Championship - 15th December

@Lambo

Just a thought, do you need to re word the first place prize in case Escher wins it? Don't want a 16 year old 'Murican bankrupting the BPC because he has to flown from the states.

@chopchop

Although, if we planned the wedding for around ACS, as the father of the bride you could probably foot the bill right?

Thank you to those who have responded regarding attendance.

Just a quick reminder, there are a few events happening over the Championship weekend at Pincadia:

A fun, social event, for players to get used to surroundings, machines, etc. Open to everyone. Costs TBA

Saturday 14th December @ 11am - 7-strike Fair Strikes.

Group elimination event. Expected to finish by 5-6pm approx. Once again, open to everyone. $15 entry.

Sunday 15th December @ 9.30am - 2019 QLD State Championship.

Open to all 2019 QLD Championship qualifiers, free entry. 4 rounds of 3 games Matchplay, cut to Top 16 finals. Likely finish 7-8pm.

Hoping to run some side comps for those that don't make finals.

Plans are also now underway for the 2020 QLD State Championships. These will be revealed in the near future!

^ it might pay to add these times into the front page post - took me a bit of digging to find the start time.

Yet another great turn out yesterday for the annual QLD State Championship tournament. A special shout out and thank you goes to everyone at Pincadia for hosting us on what was a great weekend overall. Despite putting up with typical warm QLD conditions and a tight squeeze most of the day, the patience and conduct of all players was second-to-none. What can be described as a serious and big event on the QLD Pinball calendar, felt anything but, with everyone playing in great spirits and enjoying the event.

The day was also made a lot easier because a massive list of supporters - the many scorekeepers, those that provided maintenance leading in to and during the event, to the many fellow TDs that assisted with rulings, and most of all, all of the players (especially those that travelled such a long distance). The day ran like a dream, we had no major issues with machines and they all held up exceptionally well. We also would like to say a big thank you to Pincadia and Canadian Club for donating extra prizes over the weekend as well.

Top 16 final results were as follows:

1. Escher Lefkoff ($850 + trophy)

2. Jason Lambert ($550 + trophy)

3. Gino Thimios ($300 + trophy)

4. Sean Wilkinson ($180)

5. Hugh Dickson ($110)

6. Rob Milla ($110)

7. Luke French ($110)

8. Nicolas Noben ($110)

9. Dirk Booy ($60)

10. Paul Ehrich ($60)

11. Mike Pascale ($60)

12. Paul Bateman ($60)

13. Jacob Paint ($60)

14. Simon Baird ($60)

15. Rob Singh ($60)

16. Michi Henning ($60)

Thank you to all again for a great day. Wishing all of the pinball community a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Bring on 2020!

Thanks to all who made it happen, particularly Pincadia and Lambo. Had a blast, with quite a few nail biting matches! Great to catch up with all the crew as well as meet some new people.
