Finally,,,Firepower .....after many years of waiting

Recommended Posts

Well here it is 99% done. The machine that got me into pinball many years ago at the shops.

Its been a long journey, lots of time and money but finally it's in the shed!

Big thank you and thumbs up to the following suppliers - :

Aim Pinball - Scott did the Cabinet shell - stellar job

Savage Restorations - ( No not me that's just my name!) - Rejigging/customising and fixing the CPR "fools" Gold playfield - twice!

Ken Shipley - Boards - All though sorry Ken I have a new NW7 all in one board coming from OS to put in this baby of mine!

Railways - rails and leg cab protectors, top service from this outfit!

Raysco - Tech phone and sms support at all hours of the day

Bally Bingo - Back glass

I have done some mods as I went which you may see in the pictures. Considered drop targets but just love the brutal returns from those bullseye targets so much and it was what I remembered a lot from my youth.

Some things are subwoofer and component speakers which will be in stereo when new board arrives, polished all stainless, Leds ( sorry for pics its not that blown out in real life so don't pick on me!), new oak rails in black with BA trims, chrome dome nuts, polished up the door, powder coated black legs new upgraded line filter a fuse assy, Weebly solenoid board for protection. Thats about all I can think of for now.

Still some tuning to go but time now for some playing, reminiscing and a beveridge!

Thanks everyone involved !

Photos to follow from my phone.

Mate your restos are so damn sweet even if they do come together in a cataclismic cosmic explosion-like 72hours 🤪[emoji6][emoji106], very proud to punch this one through to you , stand by for Starlight next week, and a full Fathom not far beyond that. ... oh and don’t think I’ve forgotten Meteor ... Looks sweet....

I bet it plays better than I remember...

Does the line up you are working on give away your age???

Similar ages have similar line ups and generally machines we played growing up...

In Wynnum, East suburb of Brissy, I had 8 or 9 local fish and chip shops with machines so I better get a big shed....I will need to chase those titles over time....

Hopefully Firepower will be one of them, along with Centaur, Lost World, KISS, Playboy, Harlem Globetrotters, Evil Kineval, 6 milloin Dollar Man, ........The list continues

Thanks DAG, you sound (and look!) Alot older than me :) jokes.

I really only played pinball early 80s. Remember Flash, Stellar Wars, Firepower, Kiss etc.

My parents owned a record store...complete with red shagpile up the walls. I remember Dad saying hey check this out. He was given a heap of promo thin records for Gorgar. I was only 8 then so too young to appreciate them.

Current line up is a mix after going through most of the a lister 90s stuff and a few new sterns. Prefer 80s in general.

Here's a recent pic with a few missing. Orbitor 1 Fathom, Meteor, Bop etc.

Awesome collection, Swords of Fury is a great game and so is Barracora, I have a mate with both and firepower...

Is That a Centaur with a for sale sign on it???

lol

I am still looking for a Xmas pressie...

And Meteor...

Ant has one and I want it too....

Long before Jupiters Casino was built on the Gold Coast it was a caravan park on an island...Believe it or not!!!

I watched a tech take off the glass and do a full test and the sound of that machine had me hooked for life.

As for flash...Just got one and can't seem to stop playing it even if the games can be very quick sometimes...

As for age....

Hoping to make it to 50 on Grand final weekend in 2019 and am thinking of having a HOUSEBALL CRAWL....

Sound like a plan...

Merry Christmas, Don't let SANTA bring you anything but another Pinball Machine...
