It’s a pretty common issue with ems it would probably have something to do with the ball counter unit in the back box something might not be quite right so the machine kicks out another ball even when the games over, there might even be a thread on AA here about it try the search function

Been awhile since i updated on this. Busy with work and family or its 40 + and too hot to do anything.

I have got the game playing great now. Waxed the playfield and enjoying the game. The ball count unit needed some TLC. But all sorted now.

The game sometimes wouldnt kick the ball out on a new game. The R hold relay wasnt engaging everytime. Found another anti cheat switch on the bottom and cleaned it up. So thats sorted now.

The FS relay in the backbox is gunked up. Managed to get it going but needs a new spring. Im a bit nervous about pulling this one apart completely. But a new spring will get things moving a bit better. Anyone know the part number for the relay spring? This relay also makes the lights in the rollovers etc swap from left to right which is now 90% working...

still need to clean a few light sockets or maybe solder a few new ones in.

I am going to spotlight this week and getting a new ribbon made up for the thermometer. The old ribbon is a rag. In the thermometer ribbon pulley setup the top pulley has 2x springs which tension the ribbon a bit. But mine hasb2 different sized springs there and the ribbon slides to one side.Because the whole setup is old the ribbon doesnt reset as easily as it should and if i tighten these springs at the top the ribbon doesnt move at all. Need to de gunk the whole mechanism. Which again is a bit full on with all the springs and moving parts. I am worried i will pull it apart and not be able to reassemble...

Also need to pull the free game stepper apart as it doesnt work at all.

Im at the stage where i am considering getting the help of a professional for these more difficult tasks. I am also wanting to start on my joker poker cabinet resto before the colder weather kicks in.

Any suggestions on EM pinball techs in adelaide?

Had some help to get new ribbon in and getting the match stepper relay working properly. When the backglass eventually arrives i will also replace the black/white grid either side of the ribbon.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190409/10046274bb9faed5d8fcceca71e7481b.jpg

When A B C and D rollovers are made, 5 advances of the thermometer are meant to be awarded. Found a switch under the playfield that didn't look right. Adjusted it and it fixed the problem. Didnt even get to the schematics.f6050b9d83abb88a05a1fed43e7ff2fd.jpgf54df4700fe1cbb7fc60a3cf744e0bc4.jpg

It's nice when you can just look at a switch in a ladder or stack and think "That doesn't look right" and it fixes the issue. I usually double check on a schematic first though because I really don't want to fix a problem that I just created. :)
