Amusement Worx 2019 SA MASTERS 13-15 September

Amusement Worx is pleased to be hosting the SA Masters for 2019.

    Amusement Worx Logo.jpg

As the 2019 pinball calendar is filling up quickly, we have locked in dates very early and planning is already under way.

There will be FIVE IFPA tournaments held over the three days.

    IFPA Logo II.jpg

    VENUE ADDRESS

Amusement Worx is at 285-287 Torrens Road West Croydon 5008 SA.

It's a great central location. About 10 minutes from the city centre.

For all thoses players familiar with the venue, all the video games, novelty games etc are going to be taken out of the main room for the event. So there will be plenty of space.

4-7pm: Best Game Finals. Single elimination (best of 5 or 3) for max 16 players.

    8-10.30pm: Flip Frenzy 1 (or Head-to-head matchplay).

    SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 14

9.30-6pm: The SA Masters Main Event. Group Matchplay Qualifying (6 rounds of 3 matches. Old, Mid, New machine groupings in each round).

    SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 15

9.30-1pm: SA Masters Main Event Finals. Top 16 qualifiers. Group Elimination Bracket.

2-5pm: Flip Frenzy 2 (or Head-to-head matchplay). Be aware, interstate players will need to allow about 30-45 minutes to get to Adelaide Airport from the venue to be really safe. I regularly do it in 15 minutes.

THERE WILL BE THE USUAL TROPHIES AND CASH PRIZES

SPREAD THE WORD. We really want to fill all the places and build the SA Masters.

    ACCOMODATION

There are literally thousands of rooms of accomodation within the central city. For interstate players, you can catch a shuttle bus or a taxi into the city from the airport. Amusement Worx is about 10 minutes from the city.

We suggest players use trip advisor to find something to suit needs and budgets.

In the next couple of weeks we may provide a couple of links to serviced apartments with kitchen and backpackers etcetc

The Challa Gardens Hotel is a 6 minute walk from Amusement Worx. They have 17 rooms.

    PUBLIC TRANSPORT

A big thanks to Amity Wells who has provided the following information:

Public Transport instructions from Adelaide City to Amusement Worx

    BUS

    There are two options:

230 or 232 from stop X1 on King William Street to stop 16. Walk to Days Road (T Junction that the bus is heading towards), turn left and walk to Libertine Ave, turn right and walk to Torrens Road. Cross Torrens Road and turn left, Amusement Worx is just past City Cash.

251 or 252 from stop X2 on King William Street to stop 18. Walk to and cross Rosetta Street (same direction the bus is heading). Amusement Worx is just past City Cash.

    Train

Grange or Outer Harbour trains to West Croydon from Adelaide Railway Station. Do not catch the express train to Outer Harbour as that will go past the stop. Walk up Rosetta Street to Torrens Road (street numbers will go up, not down). Turn left, Amusement Worx is just past City Cash.

The Metromate App is good for letting you know when the next bus/train is coming and can also direct you from your current location to your closest stop and onto your destination. If you do choose to use this, be aware that while it does tell you your stop is coming you may be quite close to your stop.

    Ticketing/pricing information*

A 3-Day Pass is a Metrocard that costs $25 which allows for unlimited travel on Adelaide Metro bus, train and tram services for 3 consecutive days for a set cost.

Your best option would be to purchase a 3 day visitor pass, which allows you unlimited travel on all Adelaide Metro bus, train and tram services for 3 consecutive days. The pass starts from the first time you validate the pass after the purchase and last for 3 days before it expires.

Where to purchase a 3 day visitor pass:

You can purchase a 3-Day Visitor Pass at:
Adelaide Metro InfoCentre, located at the corner of Currie and King William Streets in Adelaide. Make sure you go to the counter as you can not purchase them from the machines.

WH Smith Express Adelaide Airport, located in the ground floor arrivals area
    https://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/FAQs/#faq_header_25

If you would prefer to purchase tickets each day, they can be purchased from the driver on board any bus using the correct change or small notes. They can also be purchased on board any train or tram via the Ticket Vending Machines using coins (not 5 cents) or EFTPOS only. You will have to purchase the regular tickets unless you have an appropriate concession card.

Selected off board Ticket Vending Machines will accept cash (no 5 cents) notes and EFTPOS.

Tickets and passes must be validated upon boarding a bus, train or tram. If you catch the train to or from Adelaide Railway Station, you must also validate the ticket/pass as you enter and exit the platform area.

Fare costs for purchasing individual tickets.

*Disclaimer: all information is correct at time of posting. As fares do increase at the start of each financial year, it will be a good idea to check the Adelaide Metro website (or use the links provided) for updated information closer to your planned arrival in Adelaide.
