Administrators Brad Posted June 20, 2018 Administrators Share Posted June 20, 2018 I'm currently on a 3 week trip through Greece and in another thread mentioned that I had not seen an arcade or pinball machine anywhere. In my last 4 days in Athens and to my both shock AND delight about 300 metres from where I'm staying I come across the following stating to my wife, wow that looks like an arcade machine! I venture inside (much to the consternation of the setup guys as they don't open till tomorrow) and see this: They open tomorrow for 4 days so you know where I'lll be then. I'm just dirty I never packed an aussiearcade t-shirt =( Brad

Administrators Brad Posted June 22, 2018 Author Administrators Share Posted June 22, 2018 Went to this last night. Put highscores on some of the machines. Machines were in awful condition and all generic jamma although european types I'd never seen before. Speaking to the guy and he's a collector. Reckons he has 450 machines. He listed a lot of the dedicated cabs he has, pity he never brought them.
Autosteve
Here you go Chief...Greece pinballs... https://www.facebook.com/Arcades-pinballs-Greece-332516793767857/ This might explain a bit about why you are having issues finding machines in Greece... https://www.pinballnews.com/news/greek.html Anyway I hope the first link helps you out a bit and the second maybe the Greeks have learnt from there mistakes. Last thing I want to see or hear is you riding around on that stupid red Vespa in your pictures.:o Some pictures of you playing that Tiger Rag in the link I posted would be a nice reward for helping you out mate, just steer clear of that Vespa though. Hitler brought the Bug to the World and Mussolini brought the world the Vespa. :realmad: https://findapinball.com/en/browse/ Edited June 22, 2018 by Autosteve
Administrators Brad Posted June 22, 2018 Author Administrators Share Posted June 22, 2018 This might explain a bit about why you are having issues finding machines in Greece... https://www.pinballnews.com/news/greek.html :o Wow no wonder they're no where to be found! The machines I played had their coin mechs disabled or missing. You paid the guy and he hit a switch in the back to add credits. He complimented my score on Ms Pacman and whacked in an extra credit LOL When he said "I have 450 machines" my wife cheekily asked him if he was married, to which he replied no ;) I only have 1 & 1/2 days left here then back home. Hopefully I might see something tomorrow but I doubt it. I only ever hired cars whilst here but did not even bother in Athens,....do damn dangerous. Here's the car I was driving in Crete! A mighty 2....yes 2 cylinders of power =)
