Bit of a noob here, but could you explain how you'd build a cab like this for $200?

I'd be looking to mod/ put a retropi in, I thought it'd be worth it if Aldi reduced the cost to clear these.

“Bartop” style flat packs available here for $110 https://www.aussiearcade.com/showthr...ck-Bartop-kits

Not sure what the rest of the components would cost.

Make your own MDF cab, plenty of plans on the internet, recycle a computer power supply and a LCD, you can buy joystick and button packages with jamma harness off Ebay if you look around, pandoras box are as low as $50.

Just made a Bartop Super Bishi Bashi machine for my son using a pandora 5s and some recycled computer bits, all up come in under $150

This one came in at about $180, using the recycled parts

It looks like you'd need a bit of work to source and purchase an LCD controller to suit this particular LCD monitor, but once you did you could place any hardware in the box.
They look really neat and easy. I'm still tempted if they get reduced enough. I suspect they won't though - I'd drop $100 on it - thats about what my retropi/rpi3b setup cost anyway.
I think I'm too time poor to build my own now, I have a halfbuilt cabinet in the garage thats been there a looong time.

I think half price is reasonable considering you need to play them on your knees.

Mrs saw about 5 of them near me at the Keperra store.

They vanished at my Aldi. I asked what happened. The guy said they put them out the back to make room for other stuff. They can bring them back out later. It would be about five weeks before they were discounting them, but depends on stock levels before Xmas.
