Mirror blades install - William Solid State

Recommended Posts

Has anyone out there installed mirror blades on a Williams Solid State?

Looking to bling up a Cyclone pinball and notice there is no space for the nut with comparison to the blades on my roadshow.

I presume Williams blades will fit all Williams Pins?

Thanks Dedrok

Nice looking whirlwind

Being unfamiliar with your Whilrwind and its similarities to my Cyclone what exactly did you mean by add ins?

Is it just the block and the screws? Does the blade itself need to be altered in any way apart from drilling a few holes?

It was just the blocks at the back. The plastic covers the ramps.

Once removal of the blocks the blades fit right in.

BK2K also went straight in.

I didn’t do cyclone as the blades weren’t in before I sent it back but still have to do them.

I can’t remember if there is anything at the back though. I’ll have to dig out a pic.

Long story short, b/w blades should fit straight in and the back box hinge hole should line up.

Ok.

Looks like cyclone has the blocks for the rear panel to fit onto.

So looks like the blocks need removal.

I took a blade from my Roadshow and found it hit the bracket that allows the table to tilt back , leaving the blade about an inch above the table. I will need to remove the rear support for the glass or whatever you call it to see if it makes any difference to the height of the blade.

I appreciate your assistance.

Yeah.

Whirlwind is System 11 too with the same hinge setup.

It will be sitting up as you will need to take the blocks out.

So the backbox hinge hole would be sitting an inch or 2 forward from lining up.

Once the blade can go right back, the hole would line up and the top of the blade will line up. Or should.

I’ll check cyclone in a couple weeks if I remember.

Your Cyclone has the same wear / discoloration above the rollover targets but a little less than mine. Some nifty and a rag didn't seem to make any improvement so I was considering a light going over with magic eraser and alcohol?

I feel like giving blades a miss however i think they would really suit the machine and considered searching for a beat up blade to manipulate/ cut into position before buying new ones? A good portion of the blade would be under the table anyway. Put all new leds in last week and looks brilliant.

I did consider cutting the blades to fit under the block.

Anyway it was another machine that wasn’t mine, procured the machine and went through it and sent it to Sydney.

Still needs the blades done yet.
