TV tube suitable for arcade?

Tonjo

Question

G’day!

I’ve got the telly below in my garage.

Would the tube be suitable for a scratch arcade build or replacement?

My understanding (v.ltd) is that a tv chassis cannot he used and some tubes can be used, and some cannot.

I haven’t even turned it on for years. When off the tube screen remains grey in colour rather than black.

Any thoughts? I don’t want to turf it as one of these days I want to get around to building a dedicated woody. One day...

Any responses appreciated. I am by no means an expert!

whats the make and model on the back? Try switching it on and see if it works, even if it doesn't turn on the tube may still be good as its most likely the tv chassis at fault. If the tube is still good it can be paired with a universal chassis for an arcade build.

Thanks Jason, that’s good info.

I’ll try get a pic of the back and switch it on while I’m doing that. Not only is the tv sitting on top of something but there is also things sitting on top of it.
