Elvira and the Party Monsters Glow in the Dark Edition

Smithy

Question

Hi All, currently restoring Elvira and have couple pics and questions to share.

I've put new decals on and playfield was restored by Tim at HRP.

I am going for the Blacklight or UV look on this rebuild which I haven't done before.

Thinking of buying Glow in the dark balls similar to Viper night drivin.

A mate has already grabbed the special glow rubbers from Titan for me so that's covered.

Lighting will be mix of comet uv stuff

https://www.cometpinball.com/category-s/1842.htm

Has anybody ever bought any of these fancy glow in the dark star posts ?

Not sure if they are worth it or not ??

http://www.pinball.center/en/shop/pinball-parts/playfield-parts/star-posts/1651/star-post-white-fluorescent-glow-in-the-dark?c=2257

Prob thinking these will look better

Also quick question regarding slings.

Are the sling coils on Elvira meant to have diodes or not as one does and the other doesn't. Both have no paper wrap.

Assuming no diodes required with two new AE-26-1500 coils but not totally sure.

Has anybody done any other glow in the dark mods on other pins ?

Nice work!

I have the glow in the dark bones on the bony beast ramp on my SS, but the effect is fairly weak and only visible once turned off and in a dark room.

The replacement skull for my EATPM restore is supposed to be glow in the dark, but haven’t really checked it out.

The Titan glow rubbers are good, have them on a MB.

Mike.

Just checked and the manual says AE26-1500 which is without diode, but having a diode on there is fine even if not required as long as you solder the power wire to the banded side of the diode.

Thanks for that Chris. Now I can move on with the resto.

PS. Your old Centaur 2 is still going strong :)

Getting real close to finishing this Elvira restoration.

Not 100% sure I want to go the UV option like the second photo in first post.

That picture from Titan's website was my end goal but bit concerned about the UV light after doing some research.

Mainly worried about the kids eyes more than anything.

So pics are of progress so far but have one plastic leftover.

Anybody know where this clear plastic belongs? If anyone has any yellow ribbed flipper bats for sale let me know please.

Thanks to Jeff at railways for the bling siderails about to go on.

Thanks to Tim at HRP for his awesome work on the playfield and thanks to @extendo for the fancy stainless ramp flaps.

Great work, I know where that plastic goes, I'll update with a photo soon.

Here you go, I made a custom neon green one for my EATPM. Please excuse my custom decals as well, I really need a new backboard decal, which is difficult to find.
