ROWE R92 LAMP CONTROL BOARD

wise1

Question

I have a faulty lamp control board - 40821201 for a Rowe R92 jukebox. The lights are on but no flashing. It might not be the board as i just bought this one and Im working through the problems.

The board looks in good condition apart from a fuse soldered onto the back of it at a reset switch?

So, looking for a replacement board or a local repairer or tester. but I will post if need be. Im in the Brisbane area.

Also when the record plays, i get turntable noise, I remember that there was a switch that cut this out somewhere?

I would appreciate any help. cheers

What I did

On mine I had the same issue.

Under the triacs (things that look like transistors) - they have a diode strapped across. All you need to do is replace all of the 3 (or 4 I can not remember) diodes with 1n4007s. This fixed my problem. The lights should never go fully 'off' - they should remain dim and not off.

Also do not replace the lamps with LED versions.

This got a bit expensive, I bought 2 working units on ebay usa, had them posted to a remailing mob. add gst. well, both were non working.

I had to put a 3.15 amp fuse across the switch at CB 1 (same as my board), now we have flashing lights. the other unit does not have a socket at p3.

When I have more time I will replace the diodes. I dont think the flashing lights are in time to the music, but they flash.

Thanks for your replies

So, I took your advice and replaced the diodes. I now have 2 working units. still working on the third.

Thanks for the tip
