MARK DOWN PINBALL & PIZZA Mini League!

A1 Pizza of Port Pirie is holding a Mini League in October and November.

The name "Mark-Down!" is well known in the local area as a nick-name associated with a particularly significant Pinball Hall from the hey-day of pinball. Andrew from A1 Pizza has revived the almost forgotten but iconic nick-name, and associated it with the entertainment area of his pizza shop.

The Mini League will be run at A1 Pizza/MARK-DOWN in Port Pirie. 68 Florence St., Port Pirie, S.A.,5540.

Two of the games there will be used for qualifying, everyone is encouraged to come along and have a go!!

The qualifying period will begin at 10am on Friday October 19th 2018, through to close at 11pm on Friday November 9th 2018.

Business hours at A1 Pizza are:

Mondays to Thursdays 10am-9pm, Fridays 10am-11pm, Saturdays 4pm-11pm and Sundays 4pm-9pm.

Results will be updated to Matchplay Live at regular intervals, so that players can track their standings.

Finals will be held Saturday evening, November 10th 2018, 5pm-11pm. Warmup from 4pm.

Two machines will be set to $1 per play. They will be clearly marked with "Tournament Play" Toppers during the qualifying period.

Players can come along at any time during the qualifying period to play and register scores. Any score that a player wishes to enter will need to be verified by an official scorer at A1 Pizza. Selfies cannot be accepted for qualifying scores, but will be Encouraged so that Andrew can upload some of them to Facebook or AA

Each player’s 2 highest scores on each of the 2 machines will be counted towards qualifying for the finals. Players can make an unlimited number of attempts at qualifying during the designated period.

The top 50% of the qualifying field up to a maximum of 16 players will go through to the finals.

Finals will be Single Elimination, best of 7 games on different machines.

Prize money and Trophies will be provided for with a proportion of the coins collected by the machines over the qualifying period. The level depends on how much is collected.

Finals Tonight! ...warmup from 4pm . Be there Before the 5pm start, being late may forfeit your qualifying position!

There have been 16 players register scores. Up to 50% can be in finals. Normally this would mean 8 finalists, unfortunately due to a player entering only one score they do not actually count as a qualifying player. For a player to officially be included as a qualifier they need to have participated in at least 50% of the qualifying, which means if they had played just one more game in qualifying there would have been able to be 8 players in the finals.

So, the finals will be between the top 7 players presenting themselves for the start of the event. I already have been advised by Steve that he is unable to attend, so down to 8th position will definitely get to play. Players in positions lower than this may still be able to play depending upon absence of any top 8 players.

Prize pool is around $140! .... This will be split between the top 5 places (40% 25% 15% 10% 10%)

I believe Andrew has also organised a couple of trophies :)

Cheers!
