Rob1966
Gotlieb Funland Little bit more work done whenever I can squeeze in some spare time. A few minor details first but sometimes the minor things make a big difference, new power lead the original one looked so old and ratty this one should last another 50 years. https://i.imgur.com/jzIly8W.jpg https://i.imgur.com/of3mCxH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/AAhChxG.jpg Started installing all the hardware back into the headbox. Four new glides on the back of the cabinet and a new head box back cover guide rail I didn’t even bother trying to clean the old old pictured next to it, it was way to corroded to get the results I was looking for, like I said very minor details but it all adds to the look of a restore. https://i.imgur.com/tLOLlid.jpg And all new legs and leg levellers and rubber floor protectors, door strike plate also have a heap of other new cabinet bits from PBR that still need to be fitted also a flipper skill games topper. https://i.imgur.com/g1l3War.jpg https://i.imgur.com/oJAc3Wt.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
thejudge
I'm just interested to look inside the cabinet because my Lawman had the same 4 bolts on the back of the cabinet and they connected to a stepdown transformer which fed into normal transformer. It worked out for mine that I didn't need it because the jones plugged near the transformer could switch the power from 115v to 230v. This was the Lawman setup, is yours similar? This was the Lawman setup, is yours similar? My Pioneer and the Sky Jump I had both have that jumper. It's on the schematics: I wonder if the step down transformer was just a one size fits all process on import or something? Though that doesn't quite make sense as you still need to change the motor to 50hz and the bank reset coils to 240v.

Yep very similar set up as yours you can see the transformer on the bottom cabinet board and mounted to the back of the cabinet you can see the step down transformer, I am pretty sure this is the set up that they used for the Aussie imported machines Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Sent from my GT-I9300 using Aussie Arcade mobile app Just do it if I can believe me anyone can this is my second project and I won’t lie it’s not easy and takes a lot of patience but it’s worth it, I’ve picked up so much knowledge just by reading all the other restores on AA. And the glides were part of my big order from PBR but you can get them at Bunnings they are furniture glides Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rob1966
Flat out with work at the moment so baby steps are all that are getting done at the moment but any progress is good progress. Today was just polishing and fitting new parts slowly and after today’s efforts I have realised that I really need a proper polisher. So progress so far Before https://i.imgur.com/CJKqyVV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/3TkBpiM.jpg And progress to date as some of the PBR ordered parts gets fitted https://i.imgur.com/66rqinm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ibgoBFH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/l5T49oq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/CbSw3Vg.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7cx4s9Q.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Hj4fIsL.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
kimbleseven
Rob I like the paint job. Just the right amount of black speckle. What type of paint did you use for the black? Did you thin the paint down before flicking it? Less is more I guess Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Less is more I guess Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk You can get it from Bunnings and no don’t thin it out it’s a thick paint on purpose so that it sticks thinner paint would just run and streak everywhere. Also before you go anywhere near the cabinet when you start flicking the paint have a good practice on a piece of cardboard or something and when your happy with the way it is spreading out then hit the cabinet Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
kimbleseven
Thanks mate. Its on my list. Awesome. With the red/blue colours going over it i thought you would have to sand it back to get them to stick/not see black thru it. Did you have to sand after applying it? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk No sanding at all how you see it is how it was applied do light coats though but more of them I think I did at least three light coats and if it’s still showing through give it another coat for good luck. And I agree it’s just enough I’ve seen a couple of over done splatter/webbing jobs and they look absolutely shit if I bought them I would redo them. Rob1966
Little more progress in the head box there are supposed to be 3 bell chimes but there were two missing from this one so as part of my PBR order I ordered the missing 2, one was a big chime assembly that comes with a solenoid Missing chimes from backbox https://i.imgur.com/DQcU33u.jpg The two new chimes that I ordered https://i.imgur.com/oUYwFdR.jpg Big arse chimeback where it’s supposed to be https://i.imgur.com/bQ59a2v.jpg And the clacker chime bell https://i.imgur.com/UiqYMRf.jpg Not 100% sure if something is missing here like a spring where the arrow is pointing can anyone take a picture of their set up if you have one similar https://i.imgur.com/TbNtimN.jpg Also thought I would install so leds behind the coin value windows as these are a complete bastard to change and I never want to do them again https://i.imgur.com/36tGoOM.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2cuibmU.jpg Also for some reason someone removed the power switch and bypassed it by just connecting the wires, not sure why this would have been done so I bought a toggle switch and I’m going to install it so you can isolate power with a cut off switch again https://i.imgur.com/a30emgr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/3wjU55F.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PmQV9rY.jpg https://i.imgur.com/LbZVtKL.jpg And lastly thanks to Jeff @Railways I have fitted some new custom made side rails and again I don’t know why but the flipper holes are at different heights which is where Jeff came into it and made me up a custom set https://i.imgur.com/MsHkHfs.jpg https://i.imgur.com/J3muDHI.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YtHPw04.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Rob1966
Gotlieb Funland Thought I would have a go at reproducing some of these instruction cards as I can’t find the exact ones that I need, and yes I know inkochnito does some but he doesn’t have the ones I need and I emailed him what I was after and got no response at all, so thought I’d give it a go myself and although they are not perfect I don’t think they turned out to bad and with a little more tweaking should come up a bit better. I have to admit though they may look simple but especially the point score card took me fricken hours. Just got to decide what sort of card I want to print them on https://i.imgur.com/JYCcshi.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
