Hi. Have a 1967 KOD purchased about 12 months ago as a project machine. Has a few relay s missing in back box and some bodgey electical repairs. Plan is to get her going before doing any cosmetic work to cabinet.

Will post more photos of back glass and playfield later as can not find.20180611_120741.thumb.jpeg.f60e513b6135e81fe431febfb1b820d4.jpeg20180611_103452.thumb.jpeg.ae1c58e135fc2542100eb99dfd6dd085.jpeg20180613_135410.thumb.jpeg.6d45792b5ef758458f08fa00853136ea.jpeg20180611_103430.thumb.jpeg.bf72ea07864cd46748938dc2a0768cca.jpeg

Good luck with the project.

Looks like it has a missing chime/bell and knocker as well, based on this pic from IPDB.

The backglass is perpex in good condition but has grey tape around the edges. The ply from the back box was coming off before I glued it back so Im assuming they used the tape so would not fall out. Im concerned if try to remove tape it might damage backglass.

The missing relay coils are the alternating relay and 3 card relay coils in sequence bank

Have got all parts coming from PBR.

I have not cleaned the playfield looks pretty good to me20180719_153044.thumb.jpeg.91fd417d0caa6c23c6e17b91349fc020.jpeg20180719_191549.jpeg.f8bf53f3ce27ff28931509b69fbbe815.jpeg20180719_153133.thumb.jpeg.725b9471ab6369af5fd9a73b0aa78c01.jpeg20180719_153148.thumb.jpeg.d7581f38e8f773f120babf3438c612ad.jpeg

I cant figure out why they have gone to the trouble of soldering

wire to the fuses yet on some of the brokern solder joints to the coils

and contacts they have attached alligator clips to the wires:unsure

they ran out of solder? different owners? all they had on hand at the time?

The state of that timber beggars belief! Even mine wasn't that bad and I picked it up from the tip :o

Brad

It is pretty rough. Im just hoping that the glue holds and cabinet does not spring apart

when I put legs on and remove trolley.:(

An update.

Have removed all wiring that was not original.

None of score reels would turn properly when activated by hand so dismantled and cleaned. Credit assembly no go to spring in wrong spot in relation to stop. Lucky could compare to my wildlife and adjust.

Powered machine up motor works and stops when the burnt out reset relay is activated by hand. All playfield coils working. Score reels all 3 activate at same time[emoji53]

Hopefully when replace missing and burnt out coils might solve scoring issue.

Part s arrived but forgot to order missing coil securing screws for relay coils.the original are brass is there a reason for this?would steel screw be ok.?

Also the missing card arms come with little brass rivet ? to attach to switch actuators do i need a special tool?20180801_190248.jpeg.ea64c53edf6e3207b72fbc456c9f8247.jpeg20180616_124402.thumb.jpeg.6dbc52177012b6f6ae9ceedbe0480dc5.jpeg20180616_124247.thumb.jpeg.5c704215db832dadfd96ce6477a9d232.jpeg20180719_191648.jpeg.fa16b8f7cac583ec62907510b36606b6.jpegthanks

Hi Squirtstorm,

I restored a KOD a few years back. It remains one of my favourites that I will never part with.

Still very challenging.

Gordo...

Hi gordo

had a game on a working KOD a few weeks back great game that roto targets so cool

my challenge is to get this won working

Brass cannot be magnetised. I think that's why it was used to mount the relays, to act as a kind of magnetic insulation between the coil and the steel mount.

thanks that makes sense .will get some brass screws
