Working on a game lineup that includes a couple of oldies, and a newy or two. These are some of the available titles...

Possible Games:

Mary Shelly's Frankenstein - SEGA

Twilight Zone - Bally

The Getaway - Williams

Whitewater -Williams

Fish Tales - Williams

Baywatch - SEGA

AC/DC Premium - Stern (new)

The Simpsons - Data East

Doctor Who - Bally

Batman Forever - SEGA

Demolition Man - Williams

Swords of Fury - Williams

Medieval Madness - Remake

Dialed In - JJP

Specific titles are listed as a guide, some may not be in the final lineup. We are hoping to deliver one or two surprise titles as well.

Games will be set up with Open Outlanes. Easy to Medium on Software. Tilts are set at medium/fine and will not be altered without reason. 3 ball games with No Extra balls. Some games may still have a ball save.

Some games might be modified from their original specification. Any modifications will be highlighted.

Here are some accommodation options. If you need it I would recommend book early, the next industrial revolution is trying to happen up here and there is a good ebb and flow of out-of-town contractors working on the main attraction... Apparently you could not get a room 6 months ago but it seems to have eased somewhat now the thing is "running" I guess.

All except the Cabin Park are a short walk from the venue.

Word on the street is there's multiple pinballs going into the International very soon... :)

TOURNAMENTS IN DETAIL

FLIP FRENZY.

Saturday afternoon running from 2.00-5.00pm.

1. Once all players have registered, the number of players will be divided by 2.6 to determine how many machines will be used for the tournament.

2. As soon as we go through all the info each machine is randomly assigned 2 players. The remaining players are placed in a queue.

3. We press the start button on the stop watch and away we go (in this case 3 hours).

4. When a match is completed:

- the players circle the winner on the score card and the loser stays on the machine, unless he/she has lost twice consecutively, in which case the winner stays on.

- the person leaving the machine hands the score card to the scorer at the computer. That person then heads to the rear of the queue. When waiting in the queue, the player grabs a score card and fills in their name in player 2 position so it is ready to go.

- THE PLAYER STAYING ON THE MACHINE PLAYS IN POSITION 1.

- the player at the front of the queue moves up to play the player staying on the machine.

- at the end of 3 hours no more games may start. Whoever wins the most games in that time is declared the winner. Ties will be broken by the fewest losses and if still tied, by a single game playoff on a machine chosen at random. Ties will only be broken for first, second and third places.

FORMAT:

1. TOURNAMENT NAME: Federal Flip Frenzy.

2. DATE: Saturday May 5th at Federal Hotel 160 The Terrace Port Pirie.

3. In each round each group will play a single game on three different machines and allocated points according to their finishing position; 7/5/3/1 for four player groups and 7/4/1 for three players groups. This is the IFPA system of scoring.

4. For the first round, groupings will be random.

5. After the first round, groupings will be balanced.

6. At the close of the fourth round, the player with the highest points score will be declared the tournament winner.

7. Ties will be broken by the number of first place finishes, then by the number of second place finishes and finally, if necessary, a single game play-off. Ties will only be broken for first, second and third places.

Ok, I will create a list for each event and one for maybe's.

Ribbo, mcaussie and andrew in for both events.

Von, Onetaste and RMacauley are in the maybe list.

If people can't come for some reason on the 28th speak up. If the weekend before or after might be better let us know asap, would like to lock in the date within the next week.

There'll also be a fair bit to come soon with more info about the event formats, accommodation options, and <yawn> the rules. ;)

Interested and I have a cousin who lives in Pt Pirie who I haven't seen in a long time but I don't think my car would make it. I guess I'm a maybe for now

I'd say there is a fair chance you will be able to get a ride mate, from the looks of it :) ...

Put me down as a maybe and please do not move to the weekend earlier.

Here's why

https://www.aussiearcade.com/showthread.php/92317-Crafty-s-First-Meet-Adelaide-21st-April-2018 :)

Speaking of which everyone is welcome. (Sorry quick self promoting thread hijack)

No worries!

The only unlikely alternative is now the 5th of May. So far it is looking like it will be the 28th April.

Cheers!

Mark is unable to provide any accommodation due to some major renovations. The good news though is there's plenty of room for pinballs in the area that usually hosts live music.

So here are some options for accommodation...

There are others of course, but I would point to the International and indicate that there may, or may not, soon be a couple of pinball machines in there. ;)
