HELP : Nanao MS8-29FSG R571 Resistor (Purple)

Hello,

 

I need help with the R571 Resistor located in the flyback area of a Nanao MS8-29FSG chassis. It was replaced with the wrong one and can't find it what the original's value was. Mine is the one on the left with the green resistor. The one on the right has the original purple resistor. I tried to find the Nanao MS8-29FSG schematics online but no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That looks like the heater resistor so if it was replaced it could be because they tried to match the chassis to a different tube (with different heater/filament specs) than the original one. So the stock resistor may not be correct for the current tube.

My friend told me the image is actually very bright.He is currently checking if the tube is the original one.

It's a 1.8 ohm 2W , just the current limit for the heater , the picture on an original tube with the current 3.3 ohm resistor would be very dark.

someone told me the R571 resistor is actually a 4.7 Ohm 2Watt one and not 1.8 Ohm :

Daytona was the time where many variations of these come through, there are quite a lot of differences between the parts list and what is on some of the 29FAN / FSG models , including some slightly different flybacks which might explain why some of these had an extra heater resistor soldered to the underside of the neck board, between 1.2 and 3.9 ohms , so might be best to check the heater voltage and make sure it doesn't exceed 6.3v , increase or decrease that resistor value to get it as close as possible.

There is no reason the original should have been removed they don't burn out, this chassis may have had one of the modified neck boards on it or someone could have removed the resistor underneath it.

The digikey part is correct , pulse withstanding is basically the same meaning as slow blow is to a fuse, yes it needs to be fusible or you can burn out the heater winding in the flyback if something is wrong.

An update.After replacing the resistor with a a correct one , the image is much better but there is some geometry issue, I attach a picture.it seems a trapezoid issue, the bottom is a bit wider than the top. The only adjustments that I found on the board was SPC, V.Lin, Red, Green, Blue. The SPC makes the image wider or narrower in the middle but what I really need is a trapezoid adjustment.is there something I can do on this chassis?Thanks.
