Ponty
Hi Guys Picked up this Crusin USA a few weeks back Wasn't really looking for one but saw it on Ebay , wasn't to far away and a good price -$400 (I think) The seller had it for 12 years and hardly used it , the monitor was faulty but said the boards were good and still worked ?? I coudn't really test it so I took his word for it and luckily he was right! Hooked it up to an LCD and away it went no problems everything seemed to work with no glitches So on the list is firstly the monitor I did turn it on when I first got it home - it lit up , made some not so good sounds then stopped and a burning smell! So I think a replacement chassis is the go The tube does have some burn in but Ill leave it and see how it looks later Other than that the cabinet seems to be in good condition - some artwork missing and a few small scratches The dash needs repainting as its gone yellow (I assume it wasnt like that originally) and the top part of the marquee Some of the button lights have gone as well So another project has started much to the delight of the Mrs!! Limorange
Any chance you'd want to flog off the old chassis? I have a Crusin USA that needs some bits. That's if it's the same as mine of course. Cheers.

Ponty
On a side note I read somewhere that "Crusin World" can be swapped over into this cab and will run the same So if anyone happens to see a working "Crusin world" board in there travels let me know A "Crusin usa and world " all in one cab -- Thats an idea!! Ponty
So I finally got started on the weekend as I had received the new artwork (Thanks Noodleshirt) - Repainted the 2 side parts of the marquee as they had yellowed and put on new artwork - Repainted the front speaker grills and screws - Removed the 2 speaker covers (blue) and cleaned off all the old stars and put on new ones - Yes they are bigger (my mistake) but I think they actually look better - also repainted some of the blue on the inside part near the speaker grills - I have removed the dashboard and started painting it as it had turned yellow as well and also some of the steering and gearshift parts as well -One thing that I also came across as I was pulling stuff apart was a speaker under the seat- I had no idea it was there! I only thought there was the one in the head part of the seat For some reason it had been disconnected or had been due to moving the seat when you adjust it I re attached it but the volume was really low - On a side note in the operators manual there should be a seat volume knob on the service panel but this one didnt have one So I put the volume up to max on the PCB settings and it was heaps better (Rump shaker!!) but then the front ones were to loud so I added a volume control to the front ones and adjusted them down so the sound now overall is heaps better
Ponty
Well managed to finish it off over the weekend - Dash all repainted -New gearbox sticker -General touchup paint on the steering wheel, screws some of the seat brackets also got a new coat of paint - New lightbulbs in the back seat and base box -Scrubbed and Cleaned the checkerplate floor - Custom numberplate at the back! I gave all the sides of the cab a good scrub and removed a lot of scuff marks etc and am going to leave it at that I dont mind a few imperfections as it is 23years old its not meant to be brand new So as the bikini girl says at the start Ready ,set...... Go! On to the next project

This is an awesome resto! I am about to fix exactly the same (cosmetic issues) on my LAI cab... I'm after replacement artwork/stickers for the side light/header. Mine is yellowed too and the stickers have half peeled off. Where did you get yours? Did you get stickers custom made? I'm also after some stars for the side aswell, but I'm thinking I'll be able to find some generic ones or bigger ones like you have. What did you use for the gear shifter numbers? Thanks! And again, awesome job! Sent from my SM-G930F using Aussie Arcade mobile app

Chicago
We bought a Cruisin' new from LAI. It did really well in a sea of Segas at the time. We had it at the Prince Of Wales hotel in St Kilda Vic and it did solid dollars for over a year there. I remember when you won you got to party in a hot tub! I recall taking one half back to LAI in Abbotsford for something under warranty and we almost lost it over the side of the ute at the cnr of Hoddle and Victoria streets! Nice resto!
