Don't know whether you have the shafts yet or not but when you do get hold of them, when they break and they do break often right where the shaft joins the plate, (the 3 punch marks just aren't good enough allowing the shaft to spin and then fall out), don't throw them, get them braised in place.

This simple mod makes them last forever.;)

This hack come about as a last ditched effort to keep Timewarps and to a lesser degree Disco Fevers going once when Goddards ran out of these troublesome brackets until we found simply braising them stopped them from failing in the field.

Using a stock straight flipper bracket, ( not the copper ones, they fail just as quickly as the banana ones) and cut on this line approximately as shown.

It now fits in and uses one of the two screws to mount it.

Unlike the straight flipper bats, the bananas bats are super hard and don't flex like a straight Williams would if you did this to the flipper bracket so only having a portion of the bracket has no effect.

Chances are the flipper will have more power as found when these brackets were replaced with a bat and shaft assembly.

Just a tip, the mount screws also come loose on these bats as did the straight brackets on the straight bats.

I found a drop of wood glue on the thread stopped it but an old guy I worked with swore by dental floss wrapped around the thread before putting these screws in. Either way, you will need something as they do back off but DO NOT use LokTite.

This picture shows the press marks used on the copper brackets designed to hold the shaft to the mount. Horrible idea that failed quickly.

The silver brackets, (never seen a banana silver bracket and don't think they were ever made by the factory), break far less often but still did fail, You may wish to weld it or not.
