Netherworld Pin-Golf Weekend - 17th & 18th of Feb

Recommended Posts

Take a break in the Netherworld club house, pull up your socks and straighten your golf cap, it’s time to play ‘Pin Golf’.

On the weekend of the 17th and 18th of February, you’re invited to tour the Netherworld greens – 18 holes of brisk pinball challenges. At your own pace, you’ll try to achieve unique goals on each pinball machine with the aim to get ‘under par’. Each ball is an extra stroke, so achieving the goal on your first ball is a hole in 1.

Come down anytime on Saturday the 17th from 9am to 6pm to participate and qualify! The finals will be held on Sunday from 9am featuring the best dressed 16 players with the lowest stroke count.

Wear your finest golf attire to earn yourself a free drink in the Club House.

$500 cold hard for the winner

Each ticket comes with entry, your first drink, your scorecard, 18 Netherworld games tokens (1 per hole) and a limited edition pin designed by Moonshine Madness.

Pin Golf is an IFPA approved event. Tickets ($30 each) can be grabbed from netherworldpingolf.eventbrite.com.au or pay on the day. T-Shirts available for purchase on the day also

Finals will commence at 9am on Sunday

1. Qualifying Rounds

Players will complete 18 pin-golf holes across 9 machines

The number of balls it takes for the player to reach the target/achievement score will represent the number of Pin-Strokes earned for that hole. (1st ball = Hole in 1, 2nd ball = 2, 3rd ball = 3, etc)

Should a player not reach the target score within the allotted balls (par), then the par +1 pin stroke will be awarded for that hole.(3 balls = 4 strokes, 5 balls = 6 strokes)

Players can play the machines in any order, but must play the Pin-holes on a particular machine in order

Pin-golf games must be completed by no later than 6pm Saturday

2. Finals Round

Top 16 players to be split into 4 groups as follows:

1, 2, 15, 16

3, 4, 13, 14

5, 6, 11, 12

7, 8, 9, 10

Each group to play 3 randomly chosen pin-golf holes using pin-golf scoring

Highest seed chooses playing position first, second seed second etc

On subsequent games the person with the highest stroke score from the previous game chooses playing position first, then second highest stroke score etc

Two players with the lowest pin-golf scores in each group advance, 3 rounds in total. 16-8-4

Points do not carry over

Ties for placings will be determined by a randomly chosen single pin-golf hole playoff

Grand Final will be a best of 5

3. Extra Balls

All attempts will be made for extra balls to be disabled for all machines. Should a player earn an extra ball, they will play it as part of the same Pin-Stroke on that particular Pin-Hole

4. Rulings and Malfunctions

All rulings and malfunctions will be based on the rules for the IFPA World Pinball Championship

Final placings below mates

Awesome day. Amazing finals. Congrats to everyone who competed.

Must say there is something extra exciting about pin-golf holes in finals. Makes for great viewing when you know exactly what shots someone is going for when they step up to a machine. Saw some great clutch pinball this morning. Blood Bath being taken kicking and screaming, Powerball rage shots and Stingray slap saves.

Massive congrats to Jacob who knocked out two holes in one across the final two games to secure the win. Final hole was collect a sim card on Dialed In which the majority of people got bogeys on all weekend. Congrats to Warren who qualified 21st but finished in 3rd and Michi and Nick Rusis for making the final.
