Evening all,

Yes a newbie because I can't seem to get straight answers from other sources.

Upgrading old 1980's cocktail table (players sit opposite) to a 412 (+) in 1 unit - Game Elf(?). Image is similar to what is in the playroom.

Still have many old original boards but they require an engineer or electrotechnician to problem solve and repair broken capacitors and whatever else needs fixing.

Hope to understand which will be the best unit for us.

Regards,

Welcome!

If you can, try and grab some pictures of the internal wiring harness which plugs into the existing boards that you have. We can help identify if the wiring harness will be compatible with the JAMMA standard that boards like Game Elf use.

The good news is that your machine is running a JAMMA wiring harness which means that nearly all multi-boards will run.

I can see also from the picture that you are running an LCD with a conversion board. Most multi-boards will have a 15-PIN DSUB output which means you can skip the converter and run a higher resolution if you want.

About the only issue that I can spot is that you need an extra button in the control panel to get the most out of an X-in-1.

Cheers

Thank you for your looking at the dodgy pix and your replies and suggestions.

The engineer hopefully will have the brain spcae to review all that's been shared here on Sunday at the latest for me to make the purchase fo a PB or clone.

I'll post when decisions have been made and action taken.

Regards,
