Another Pinball Road Trip (in the tonna)

Recommended Posts

For now I’ll stick to the “borrowed” Echo.

Not replacing it with anything for a while.

Waiting until I’ve sold all the pins and sorted the house.

I’ll admit that I couldn’t sleep all night and haven’t ruled out building something down the track.

That was the reason I made mine all those years ago, couldn't find anything that I really wanted. That motor I used cost me 3 licenses but it did go into two cars in it's life. Still, it was one hell of a lot of fun to drive. The commodore we have now is probably near as quick but it doesn't have that fun factor but I seriously don't think it is as bullet proof as the tonner was either. I think I could break the commodore in one night to tell you the truth where as the tonner was using the best and strongest parts in the motor/ driveline.

Good luck finding something or at least finding something you can insert an LSX crate motor/ driveline in.;)

Yeah I’ve had a couple of Tonnas, couple of Wagons and quite a few Statesmans plus a Monaro.

First was the Blue HZ wagon, and yes I was quite young.

Then I repainted it Green

Next was the HT Monaro weapon. This thing was nuts. But no pics of it together.

Next was the Red HJ Wagon. Fitted all my good Statesman parts to it from the green wagon.

I have the perfect beast the can pull the guts out of an elephant.- Slow but get the job done..:p

Totally different type of power the tractors. Takes a bit of getting used to I found like simply getting to the seat in mine you risk being analized by the many gear shifters sticking out of the floor.:o

I was attempting to pull a stump out of the ground one day in 1st gear low and within seconds the machine was up in the air on one back wheel. You like doing wheel stands, do exactly as I did.

@Dedrok yes some very nice cars there. I only owned three of that generation, a HJ ute, a HQ 2 door followed by the 1 tonner. Both the ute and the tonner used the same motor, it just evolved as the lust for power and reliability increased. I always wanted to do a HQ stato. Just something about that body I liked. My mate got one for $1000 and it was going to be mine but one day out the back of no where he was driving it and it caught fire. Needless to say it was referred to as the Bar B Q after that. :lol
