MEDIEVAL MADNESS Tart up and Pimp

Recommended Posts

Well cant really call this a restore, more just improving whats there.Game play and cosmetics.

Finally picked up an original MM.

Been on the search for a very long time and this one finally worked out.

Bought it in from the States and after a long shipping process, this is how she arrived.

Good as gold, nothing damaged, off to a great start.

Took it from the docks and straight to get it converted to Aussie power at a techs joint and unwrapped it there for the first time.

This is how she came up

Now to be fair, I did say this wasnt a restore.

It will be Just a quick make over.

Nice pick up!

Doesn’t look like there’s much to do?

So you have to go to the States to find a nice original MM now?

Could be you have to. Once they fall into collectors hands they seldom leave. The game is too good to sell on.

Nice looking game,

Dave

No, not a lot to do.

It has had ,what I would describe as , a pretty good restore done about a 18months ago.

He has not gone to as much detail as I would have , but there is certainly not as much work to do on this, as others I have done.

New Cabinet decals, applied evenly and smoothly , although wrinkled around leg protectors.

Clear coated playfield, very fast and smooth,a couple of tiny marks here and there.

Came with Blades, scratched and need replacing ,Colour LED DMD, which was a huge plus and a manual.

It needs a good clean, new rubbers, new balls, target decals, some better instruction cards, the existing lock down bar is bent and scratched, needs replacing and the moat popper is damaged also.

Nothing a bit of bling wont fix.

The gold ramps are in pretty average condition and will need to be re done, also needs a couple of plastics replaced.

Will post some more pics, soon

When an Original MM is going for 15- 16 k in Australia and thats not in stunning condition,it was a lot cheaper bringing it in from OS.

Hey Dave, couldnt agree more.

I can see why people are so reluctant to sell this, once they own it.

Very addictive game and bloody hard to come by.

Removed the ramps to check out the existing rubber situation.

Funny the rubbers are so bad, but the playfield is good.

So did the previous owner do all this and not replace rubbers??? FIIK

Solution Purple Titans with some purple and some red posts

That is one nice PF - most originals I've seen have a ball track mark on the orbit above the pop bumpers. If the PF hasn't been restored then I think your machine hasn't been played much and the rubbers have simply perished with old age.

Like the purple titans!!

Cheaper to replace the wire ramps we had them remade by the original Williams manufacturer using Williams tooling

At your price, I would have to agree,I have seen these ramps advertised for a lot more elsewhere, thanks @Ballypinball.

Also dont have to wait a month

A massive difference between old and new

I like those instruction cards Rich - where did you get them or I wouldn't mind the image file if you have it?

Looking forward to seeing the while machine in all its glory

  • 8 months later...

@richyrich - I love that black decal/sticker/tape across the top of your lock down bar receiver/bracket you installed on the MM tart up last year. Can I ask, where did you get it from? Did you have it made or did you buy it like that with holes cut out already?

Tried sending you a PM but you are not accepting PM's as quota full.

Thanks heaps.

Glenn
