C64 Mini & revisiting my youth

Recommended Posts

With the release of the C64 Mini last week - I have been reliving my youth on youtube, revisiting old gameplay vids, researching SD2IEC and Ultimate-II+ etc. Have also come across some decent videos/talks from ex-Commodore employees.

Despite buying the mini, I'll probably leave it in the box and get the original fired up for that pure retro experience :)

Thinking of buying these:

Does anyone have any bits/pieces laying around that they might want to part with?

I've got all manner of bits & pieces laying around, sometimes think I should probably catalogue the lot so I can keep track!

And I can fully recommend the SD2IEC from tfw8b.com - Rod does some pretty solid work with all his accessories, and my one has never skipped a beat. While it's a little redundant now I've got a 1541 Ultimate-II+, I still use it for gaming conventions and the like as I'm less worried about it going walking.. Pair it with the Fast Load and you'll be set for the majority of stuff you'll likely want to play (or until you can justify the 1541u!).

Here's my beige SD2IEC chilling out next to my 1541u-II+. Mine's an older model with just two buttons on top, but the newer versions Rod sells now has an extra button which allows auto-generation of the diskswap.lst file for managing multi-disk games. Also went the Userport power option with the Commodore 16 connector as well, meaning I can use it on all 3 of my Commodore 8-bit computers as need be (C16, VIC-20 & C64/128).
