Stereo and Mono wiring question

Recommended Posts

*I am wiring up a lowboy to put my Tekken 2 and 3 pcbs in and also run a multi board. My question is about the wiring for the sound. I plan to put a connector inline between the jamma connector and the speaker. Will have the two speakers*wired up two ways, one for mono and one for stereo running to their own plug. Just change over the plugs depending on what type of board is running.

I was going run a couple of jumpers from the right speakers on the small edge connector to the Jamma edge connector 11 and M on the Tekken PCBs. On the wiring diagram below it has these as AUDIO(GND) and AUDIO(+) are these actually used*and is it OK to jumper the right speaker to them?

Also if I wire the cab for stereo only will all mono pcbs run with no issues but just to one speaker?

Cheers

I'm a bit confused by the diagram representing the jamma standard. Specifically about pins M and 11 as they don't adhere to the jamma standard.

I would have thought that you'd connect A1 and B1 to jamma L and 10, then use a common ground.

Pins M and 11 are used for audio Pre out if used on Jamma boards but not usually.

See page 10 it mentions where to wire for Stereo

I am just wiring one of my generic cabs now for stereo or mono speakers. Currently there are 2 8ohm speakers in parallel going to a Jamma edge connector. I plan on changing the speakers to be wired for Left and Right and adding a connector inline so I can plug in a cable going to a separate audio amp or plug into the Jamma edge and parallel the connection.

Cheers Ryan. I think I'll run with the left speaker connected as per usual to the Jamma edge connector and the right speaker straight to the Tekken PCB. Will test it out tonight before wiring up the cab.
