Super Major Awesome League (SMA) @ Surfers Paradise

Some say there is no such thing as TOO MUCH pinball - well, we're testing the limit of that saying within South East Queensland. It's been too long since GCPC had any side comps, now with Timezone's approval we're introducing a Quarterly special (provided that the first one is successful).

So let me introduce to you ...
The SUPER MAJOR AWESOME league (herein referred to as SMA).
      IFPA approved.
Note this event will NOT be included as part of the QCS qualifying (as the cutoff declaration for that was a couple of months ago).

Location - Timezone Surfers Paradise - Cavill Ave Mall

      Qualifying
Play a single game on every machine available at Timezone (currently 9 machines).
Ranked first to last on each machine with PAPA style points system
      1st 100 points, 2nd 90 points, 3rd 85 points, 4th 84 points, 5th 83 points and son on.

Up to 3 qualifying attempts can be made (one per night of attendance)
Wednesday 13th June, Tuesday 19th June, Thursday 21st June. Beginning at 6pm, closing time is 11:45pm.
Note that you only need to attend ONE qualifying session to potentially qualify. But, you have the option of multiple attempts to improve your score (only personal best scores on each machine is used in the qualifying calcs).
Also note 7:30pm cutoff time, I can not accept qualifiers after this time as it would be pushing it to get all the games played within a reasonable finish time (I do have a day job).

      Cost-
As per normal monthly comps at GCPC, it will be $20 per qualifying attempt. $10 goes to Timezone for the use of their machines and $10 goes into the SMA kitty to supply trophies and random draw prizes. Note that I will be factoring to give as much as possible back to the players. At this stage I envisage a minimum of $100 in random draw prizes being given back (3 qualifying attempts = 3 entries, 2 attempts = 2 entries, 1 = 1), as well as $60 cash prize for 1st, $40 cash prize for 2nd and $20 cash prize for 3rd. But this may change depending on the volume of competitors/frequency of attempts. Also trophies for the top 3 (something a bit fancier than normal)

      FINALS
Will be held on Saturday 23rd June, check in at 9:30am, competition starts 10am.
Finals will consist of the top 16 players (if we have 32 or more qualifiers) or the top 12 players if we have 24<>31 qualifiers.
This will be a 3 strike knockout through matchplay software with no game cost to the finalists (TD will be swiping prepaid cards for the games). With an expected finish time of 1pm.

Note also, the Tournament Director of Yerongpilly has offered FREE entry for the winner of this event into the Silverball Pinball Club on Saturday 30th June.

Tonight is your last opportunity to qualify for the Super Major Awesome League (finals on Saturday morning) - which has some Super Major Awesome trophies and $60, $40, $20 for the top three spots.

Note this event should receive maximum TGP with regards to IFPA points, so it has the potential for some serious bank towards ACS qualifying.

      Be there, or be square
