Super Major Awesome League (SMA) @ Surfers Paradise

PINBALL PINBALL PINBALL - is there such a thing as too much? Let's try and find out kicking into 2019 with ...

The SUPER MAJOR AWESOME league (herein referred to as SMA).
    SUMMER 2019 event
    IFPA approved!

Location - Timezone Surfers Paradise - Cavill Ave Mall

    Qualifying
Play a single game on every machine available at Timezone (7 machines expected including possible "The Beatles Gold").
Ranked first to last on each machine with PAPA style points system
    1st 100 points, 2nd 90 points, 3rd 85 points, 4th 84 points, 5th 83 points and son on.

Up to 5 qualifying attempts can be made (three nights with an additional buyin attempt available on the first two nights)
Wednesday 9th January, Tuesday 15th January, Thursday 17th January. Beginning at 6pm, closing time is 11:45pm.
Note that you only need to attend ONE qualifying session to potentially qualify. But, you have the option of multiple attempts to improve your score (only personal best scores on each machine is used in the qualifying calcs).
For an additional buyin attempt on the first two nights, you MUST finish all your first attempt games by 9:30pm. There will be no buyins or new players accepted after this time.

    Cost-
As per normal monthly comps at GCPC, it will be $20 per qualifying attempt. $10 goes to Timezone for the use of their machines and $10 goes into the SMA kitty to supply trophies and random draw prizes (additional buyin is by $5 cash direct to the tournament director). Note that I will be factoring to give as much as possible back to the players via random draw prizes as well as $60 cash prize for 1st, $40 cash prize for 2nd and $20 cash prize for 3rd. But this may change depending on the volume of competitors/frequency of attempts. There will also be fancy trophies for the top 3 (as per the photo's in this thread)

    FINALS
Will be held on Saturday 19th January, check in at 9:30am, competition starts 10am.
Finals will consist of the top 16 players (if we have 32 or more qualifiers) or the top 12 players if we have 24<>31 qualifiers.
This will be a 3 strike knockout through matchplay software with no game cost to the finalists (TD will be swiping prepaid cards for the games). With an expected finish time of 1<>2pm.

2019 dates are planned as follows ... (but are subject to change with venue availability)
    Autumn – Wed 8th, Tue 14th, Thur 16th, Sat 18th MAY
    Winter – Wed 10th, Tue 16th, Thur 18th, Sat 20th JULY

Tonight is your last opportunity to qualify for the Super Major Awesome League (finals on Saturday morning) - which has some Super Major Awesome trophies and $60, $40, $20 for the top three spots.

Note this event should receive maximum TGP with regards to IFPA points, so it has the potential for some serious bank towards ACS qualifying.

    Be there, or be square
