Nah don't think so. Told tac.. I didn't actually think there was anything wrong with me at the time. Mehhhh not sure I wanna get involved with the driver at fault. It was an accident... Not like he was drunk or anything

Richard, if your medical expenses are more than $601, TAC encourage you to put a claim in for the rest of your expenses (after you've spent $601 out of your own pocket). Keep all receipts and x-rays, medical reports, police report etc

To be clear, for example, if you spent $2000 out of your pocket (on medical expenses), you can claim $1399 'cause it happened on a public road, no matter who's fault it was.

This info is as of June 17 when I had my mishap. Ring them to see if that has changed.

Yeah good thanks. Walking again and doing exercises for the left leg. Got test results back today for right leg and I havent got flesh eating disease so thats a good thing! The wound (pissing out of blood per FB pic) has been going for 2 months now and has been infected twice. Thats probably been more trouble than the broken ankle. It got infected due to the accident and it being a deep wound and all. The interesting thing was that my jeans were not ripped yet something managed to pierce the skin...

Ok so here we go. After the accident I had a few scratches on my right leg (left leg one car, right leg the other car). If you have a look at the top of my leg you will see a longish scab. Note how it seems swollen.

So after a few weeks it seemed to be healing, but then one night I noticed blood on my left leg and wondered where it came from... So whilst sitting on the couch I looked over at the scab on the right leg and bang, blood literally pissed out of my leg

First thing the old lady said was "How am I going to get this out of the carpet" Reckon about 100-200mms came out. So it was off to the doctor. The following pic was taken 5 days later. Note the indentation on the left of the wound. Must have been part of the car door that I slammed into. And ofcourse that deep hole that it created. At this point it became a Staph infection. What was interesting was that there were no holes in my jeans from impact.

So after about 8 weeks the wound was almost getting there and it got infected again. This was due to it being a sinus wound (the wound went down and to the back under the skin). So then after easter it all opened up:

Once the wound opened up it made it easier to heal, but they tested for flesh eating disease just to make sure. I wish I didnt read Petes thread and I didnt know what could happen....

The wound then flattened out:

Its been 3 months of going to the doctor 2-3 times a week. Prob another 2-3 weeks then I can do the dressing myself. Hell of a long time to have to wrap it in glad wrap when having a shower! Oh and I took 2 sets of 3 courses of anti biotics (30 days in total).... Had an xray as well to see if the bone was infected and almost was recommended to goto hositpal to be put on an IV drip and or an operation for a skin graft.

The puss out of that would have been a 1 million hits on YouTube easy

Hell I’d even watch it

Sent from my iPhone using Aussie Arcade

No puss, just blood. Thats baking soda on the blood. After that Windex got 95% of it out. Brilliant stuff.

Yeah its coming along well... too well infact. its actually coming out and they are packing it to push it back in so the skin can grow over. They actually kept it wet to stop the skin healing over the top incase bacteria got trapped underneath. So they were trying to get it to heal from underneath first.

Update:

Almost there. Using a waterproof dressing now so can have a shower without wrapping my leg up. Be another 3-4 weeks before it's fully healed.
