Do J-PAC's Require -5 Volts on a PSU?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Just a quick question before I assemble my MAME setup. I purchased an arcade power supply off eBay (Those crappy Min Dong switching supplies). Anyways, the ad stated that the power supply would have the following rails: +12V, +5V, -5V, 2x Grounds, 2x AC rails and a Field Ground. When I received the power supply, I noticed that it DOES NOT have a -5V rail, instead it has 3x Ground Rails.

The question is, will this work in conjunction with a J-PAC connected to a PC running GroovyMame? Is the -5V rail required? I do know that certain JAMMA games i.e Double Dragon require the -5V rail in order for the sound to work correctly.

Cheers,

Dylan
