TZ clock is playing games with me

koolego

Question

Hi

Restoring a TZ and as you do I replace the clock and it works no problem until...... I lower the playfield where I get a message the clock is broken. When I lift the playfield up just a bit, and restart the machine its works again...

Anyone know why TZ is messing with me? Has anyone come across this problem before, tips on where to start looking?

Found the problem so I thought I would close out this thread so if anyone else is having the same problem they know where to look. Thanks Boof to get me thinking.

What was happening is the clock shaft had some movement in it, when the clock was on the playfield and leaning forward, the min hand would not trigger the opto and I would get clock broken message. When I tilted the clock back it would work fine.

End result, I picked up a washer from Bunnings and it fixed the problem. Photo is the only one I have that shows the location.
