Trading card machine (for lack of a better name)

Recommended Posts

I picked up an interesting new project today. As per the title I'm not sure what it is called? It's like a slot machine with trading cards as the prize. Top prize is if you can stop all 3 windows on the number 7 it spits out 5 cards. It all seems to work ok. If anyone knows anything about them , I would appreciate your help. It came with lots of cards including some unopened boxes. I will add lots of pics, as everyone (especially me) enjoys looking at the detail.

I would like to turn up the volume on the cab. I can't see any external volume control. Is the yellow knob on the pcb board a volume pot? Experience tells me don't stuff with it unless your sure. So I'm reluctant to turn it . Any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, I am trying to research the card machine. I am really struggling to find any information. Does anyone know of sites that list early Japanese machines? I can't find any contact details for Banpresto now Bandai related arcade products. It has been described to me by someone in Japan as a slot machine with cards as a prize? thanks in advance

Thanks @namastepat . You were spot on. I joined Arcade-Otaku, posted a question and 20 mins later I had all the answers. I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

The cab is a Banpesto Lucky 7.

They suggested a Google search BANPRESTO -ゲーム&カード ラッキーセブン- and there it all is. Pics youtube videos etc.

It's a cool machine, I saw it on GT and had no idea what it was :) What are the cards that it came with? Are they a particular video game or cartoon character? It's a great novelty piece to have in your games room, that's for sure.

Of wait, just saw the images of the cards on the top of the machine. Did yours come with Mario and Pokemon cards? If so, that's awesome! :)

Yes it came with a Pokémon cards some Mario cards and heaps of a Japanese game Pokonyan. I am going to restore it and give it to my son for Christmas. The only problem is I'm not sure which theme to go for. The cabs were used for all his favourites - Pokémon, Dragon Ball,

Yu gi oh and probably his fav Sailor Moon.

Today I bought 4 new casters for the machine. I find it amazing that the cab was made in Japan 25 years ago , yet I could still buy the exact same caster here in Brisbane. They are made by Hammer and were $5.50 each . The old ones were rusty and had flat spots on the rubber from years of dragging around with the locks on.

Update on progress . I made a new bottom marquee that was missing on mine . Finished the painting and cleaning of various bits, then assembled everything back together. The machine is fully functional . For a $1 coin you get three goes to get matching numbers. Double any numbers gets one card , triple anything gets 3 cards and triple 7 gets 5 cards. The machine is set so that if you don't get any doubles or triples in the first 2 goes the 3rd time the first 2 numbers are 77 so you are guaranteed of at least one card. It's all ready for my son for Christmas. He will now have a rather unique place to store his Sailor Moon trading card collection.
